Bob Gillett


Presentation: Underwater Kicking, Mono Fin Clinic

Hall of Fame Swim Coach Bob Gillett will be hosting an underwater kicking and mono fin clinic at the Denton ISD Natatorium May 9th-10th. Coach Gillett has been traveling around the world educating the swimming community on the advantage of extended underwater breakouts. Known as the 5th stroke of competitive swimming, Coach Gillett will share how underwater kicking is FASTER than swimming on top of the water!


    Coach Gillett has developed numerous elite swimmers who have used extended underwater methods to excel in elite competitions. Athletes like Cal-Berkley stand out backstroker who went :23.34 in the 50 backstroke and :50.31 in the 100 backstroke. Also, 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Gold Medalist (200m Butterfly) Misty Hyman.

     World renown sprint coach and head Oklahoma Baptist University head swim coach Dr. Sam Freas will be hosting a swim clinic at the Denton ISD Natatorium on May 10th & 11th 2013.

      Legendary hall of fame swim coach Don Easterling hosted a swim clinic in Denton, Texas at the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex/Denton ISD Natatorium on April 27th, 28th, and 29th 2012.

     Nancy DiMarco, Ph.D., R.D., C.S.S.D., L.D.

Presentation: "Sport and Nutrition"

   Dr. DiMarco is the director of the Institute for Women's Health at Texas Woman's University. She's a registered and licensed Dietitian, and a board certified specialist in Sports Dietetics. She's a tenured professor with Texas Woman's University's Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences.




Alec Sanchez

Presentation: "Aquatic Awareness In Autism"

   Alec Sanchez, at the age of 18, was the recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award. After learning of his autistic uncle's near drowning experience, Alec decided that he needed to start an adapted aquatic program for children with autism. Alec Sanchez shared his experiences in developing the program and the endless potential one has in having a positive impact on their community, regardless of age.
