CINCINNATI MARLINS MASTERS SWIMMING

We are a United States Masters Swimming team and a part of the Southwest Ohio Masters.    This program is for swimmers ages 19 and over who enjoy the water and the camaraderie of training with like-minded people!   Some compete, some swim just for the sheer "health" of it!  You don’t have to be a record setter or even race to swim with us, all you have to do is have a desire to keep yourself in great shape and  improve your swim strokes at the same time.   Come to St. Xavier High School Natatorium and check us out!

DIRECTIONS to St. Xavier High School Natatorium:   FROM I-75 SOUTH-take the PADDOCK RD EXIT, turn left onto Paddock Rd.   Turn Left onto North Bend Rd. under the railroad trestle and follow it up the hill, St. X is on the right at the top.   The Natatorium is at the back of the school-stay to the left when coming in the front driveway.

PRICES ARE:   $6.00 per swim          $50 ten swim punch card       $150 for 3 month quarter unlimited practices     

$450 per year (September to August)  for unlimited practices 

 

       MUST be USMS (United States Masters Swimming) registered-go to www.usms.org  and register online

  MANY THANKS to TRINA INGOLE and SUSAN HAMANN for helping me through this season, I am temporarily heading our West Satellite until that position can be filled in April.   These ladies helping us out mean that we can still swim!!   I will continue to write workouts and will be here for Masters for SATURDAYS when there is NO MEET and other nights when West comes to Central due to high school events.     Thank you so much for all your patience during this time!     Coach Jerri

TRAINING TIP:  Going back to something I’ve talked about in the past, whenever I swim this tip really helps me improve my stroke efficiency.  Of all the things I think about, SWIMMING DOWNHILL and pressing (or leaning) on my upper body has been the one thing that makes me feel ON TOP OF the water.  Not pressing with the hand, but pressing on your LUNGS-or the shoulder that’s closest to the bottom of the pool.   This will ALWAYS bring your hips closer to the surface preventing drag from the hips down.   Head in a natural, resting position-eyes down without burying head.   Think about exposing the back of your neck!    Happy training.....
