2010 Gator Grinder

The Canby Telcom Gator Grinder Triathlon is an
excellent introduction for the first-time triathlete, as well as a
great early season event for the experienced racer. The swim
will be in a pool, the bike course is over beautiful rural roads
and the run is flat and fast. There will be road bike,
mountain bike and relay divisions. All proceeds support the
Canby Swim Club.
| Swim
|
500-yard (20 lengths, 10 laps) pool swim in a
6-lane, 25-yard pool, with up to 4 swimmers per lane. There
will be volunteer lap counters. Drafting is permitted.
The swim will be seeded by the 500-yard swim time participants
submit with the entry form. Heat assignments will be e-mailed
by the Monday prior to the race. The first heat will be in
the water at 7:30 a.m. Check in at least one hour before your
start.

| Bike
| The one-loop 12-mile bike course is over the
beautiful rolling country roads that surround Canby. A
Snell/Ansi-approved helmet is mandatory. Drafting is not
legal. Volunteers will manage traffic at intersections, but
roads will be open to traffic and cyclists will be responsible for
their own safety.

Run
|
The 3.1-mile run is mostly on roadways with about
one-third on a paved walking trail. The course is flat and
fast. Water will be available on the course.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT
THE 2010 GATOR GRINDER TRIATHLON
The 2010 Gator Grinder Triathlon has 240 spots available. Due
to the size of the facilities this is a hard limit. Last year all
of our entry spots were full by Dec. 7, so if you want in please
don’t delay. We do have a cancellation policy, please read it
carefully.
REGISTRATION
Online registration only. NOTE: If you do
not get a confirmation e-mail from signmeup.com after you have
registered, your entry may not have gone through. Please make
certain that you receive a confirmation e-mail from
signmeup.com.
CANCELLATION / WAITLIST POLICY
Cancellations by March 31, 2010 will be given a full refund
less $10, assuming there is someone on the waitlist to take your
place. No refunds will be given after March 31 or if your spot
cannot be filled. After the race fills, we will maintain a
waitlist. Entries are non-transferrable. Athletes will be selected
from the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis.
PLEASE NOTE: T-Shirts are only guaranteed to
entries registered before March 1.

AWARDS
The top 5 male and female individual finishers in each age
group and top 3 relay teams with in each age group will receive
awards. Special award for the top overall male and female finisher
and the top male and female finisher from Canby
Oregon.
ENTRY FEE
$50 individual/$80 for relay team. Deadline May 3, 2010 OR
when all 240 slots are filled. No day of race registration. The
entry fee includes t-shirt, results and a great
time!
RACE T-SHIRTS
Race T-Shirts are shirts for men and women. Shirts are
only guaranteed for entries before March 1, 2010. Entries after
this date are not discounted or guaranteed a race
shirt.
PACKET PICKUP
Packets will be available starting 6 AM on Saturday, May 8.
Heat times and lane assignments will be E-mailed by May
3.
