Age: 8-13 years old
Practice Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, for 1 Hour
Description: This group is designed for some elementary school ages and junior high school aged children who can demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of stroke technique and racing skills. The primary emphasis of this group is to give the swimmers detailed stroke technique improvements, and begin moderate volume endurance training. Swimmers will learn that training and competing with teammates is fun and rewarding. Formalized goal setting exercises will be introduced.
- This group is 70% technique and 30% endurance training.
- Swimmers should have at least one USA Swimming B time standard, and be able to swim repeat 100’s of freestyle, as well as repeat 50’s of backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Swimmer Expectations: Attendance is not mandatory at every practice, but swimmers should be attending as often as possible. Swimmers should plan to attend swim meets/competitions regularly, and be entering the focus event of each meet as the season progresses. Swimmers are expected to complete goal setting activities and know goal times for practice purposes.
Equipment: Swimmers need to have a pair of Fins and a Water Bottle at practice each day. Recommended Fins
