Practice Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, for 1 hour 15 minutes, with Dryland on Wednesdays
Description: This group is designed primarily for some junior high school aged athletes who are dedicated to swimming and are beginning to attend some morning practices. The focus in this group is to continue developing detailed stroke technique habits, strength and endurance, self-confidence, and the athlete’s ownership over their swimming. Swimmers will learn that training and competing with teammates is fun and rewarding. Formalized goal setting exercises will be introduced. Having fun and bonding with teammates is crucial to the athletes learning to push through being tired.
- This group is 50% technique and 50% endurance training.
- Swimmers should have at least 1 USA Swimming BB time standard and 5 B time standard events. Interval set for this group include: 10 x 100 Free on 1:45, 2 x 200 IM on 3:00
Swimmer Expectations: Swimmers must attend a minimum of 4 of 6 practices a week. Swimmers should to attend all schedule meets, and be entering the focus event of each meet as the season progresses. Swimmers are expected to complete goal setting activities and have goal times and splits on hand at practice.
Equipment: Swimmers need to have a pair of Fins, Paddles and a Water Bottle at practice each day. Recommended Equipment
