The
Bainbridge Island
Swim Club offers training and
practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is
the goal of the Bainbridge Island
Swim Club to offer age specific
training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each
individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR
abilities.

Training Groups
Jr Swim Team, Level 1
: ( mostly ages 6-7 yrs.) Having fun learning proper strokes,
starts and turns. Attendance at 2-3 one hour workouts per week is
recommended. Swim meet participation is available. 4X100 IM’s
on 2:30 sendoff is required to move up to Level 2.
Level 2:
Advanced younger swimmers and novice older swimmers graduating from
Splash Class and Level 1. Attendance at 3-4 one hour workouts per
week is recommended. 6X100 IM’s on a 2:00 sendoff is required
before moving up to Level 3.
Level 3:
Usually swimmers 9-12 yrs. Continued emphasis on stroke technique.
Attendance at 5 one hour and fifteen minute workouts per week is
recommended. Twenty minutes of dry land exercises after swim
practice is recommended. 5X 200 IM’s on a 3:15 sendoff is
required to move up to Level 4.
Level 4:
Advanced swimmers 11 yrs. & up. Emphasis shifts to a more
serious training regiment with continued focus on good technique.
Attendance at 5-7 one and a half hour swim workouts per week plus a
minimum of three 1/2-hour dry land exercises is recommended
(M/W/Sat before swim). 5X200 IM on a 2:50 send-off is
required to move up to
Level 5.
Level 5:
Swimmers with high goals who are ready to dedicate themselves to
regular dry land exercises and commit to 6-8 two hour swim workouts
per week and forty minutes dry land exercises (T/Th/Sat before
swim).
Cross Training:
This program provides athletes with commitments to other sport and
activities the opportunity to practice with BISC. Attendance at 4
workouts with Level 3 or Level 4 per week is allowed.
