BAC’s Masters Swimming Program provides consistent, quality training to adult athletes at all levels, including tri-athletes, beginning swimmers, former Olympians and collegiate champions. This group really is for anyone interested in an organized swim workout; don’t be intimidated by the term “masters”. If you can swim, you’re in!
We offer 15 different weekly workouts, making it easy to find a regular routine that fits your schedule. Each workout is run by an experienced coach who can offer whatever level of coaching feedback you desire. Practices are designed to provide a substantial aerobic workout while simultaneously creating an environment conducive to improving stroke technique and efficiency. We are one of the few Bay Area programs with access to long course training, an element that gives us an extra edge in training variety and opportunity.
BAC has a strong team atmosphere with members who support and inspire each other to achieve daily success. Many BAC swimmers join together to participate in different events throughout the local area as well as in other states, forming teams for open water swims and similar competitions. On a daily basis you may visit the pool and see the Masters team competing and encouraging each other, smilingly racing and pushing their lane-mates to swim faster.
Whether you're racing for personal best times or national records, training for your first or 50th triathlon, or simply out to enjoy the pursuit of sport and fitness, BAC has a lane for everyone. Come down to the pool and get started!
As a BAC Masters swimmer you have two registration options - quarterly or drop-in.
As a quarterly member, you pay one flat fee for three months, and all workouts during that period are open to you. We encourage people to register as quarterly members if they plan to attend at least a couple of workouts per week.
As a drop-in member, you pay each time you attend a workout.
To make it easier and more convenient to be a drop-in member, BAC sells 10-swim memberships for swimmers who come less frequently or at random schedules. You may also simply pay a one-day drop-in fee at the front desk for low commitment.
All BAC Masters swimmers must be current members of US Masters Swimming (USMS), and you must show proof of membership before being allowed to train. This is required whether you participate as a pass-holder or a drop-in swimmer.
NOTE: USMS memberships are done on an annual basis and must be renewed at the start of every calendar year.
