Lifeguard Certification Course 

Learn how to prevent and respond to emergencies in and around the water. Topics include: risk management, water rescues, first aid, CPR/AED and preventing disease transmission. Upon successful completion of the course, participants are awarded certification in: Lifeguard Training and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards (each valid for 2 years).  Participants must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the class, attend and participate in 100% of class sessions, receive a passing score of 80% on 2 written exams, and successfully complete 3 practical skill tests. We do not offer refunds for any certification course.

Prerequisites: Swim 300 yards continuously using Freestyle and Breaststroke (no time limit).  Swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound brick and return to the starting point (100 seconds).  Tread water with no-hands for 2 minutes.  Please bring a photo ID to verify age on the first day of class.      

Fee: $300 member; $345 non-member (includes certification fee and CPR pocket mask)

 

Lifeguard Review Course 

This course is for participants who are currently certified by the American Red Cross and are looking to renew before they expire.  Participants must provide proof of a valid certification, attend and participate in 100% of class sessions, receive a passing score of 80% on 2 written exams, and successfully complete 3 practical skill tests.  We do not offer refunds for any certification course.

Junior Lifeguard Course

BAC’s Junior Lifeguard Challenge Course is a weekly course for Youth ages 11-14 to learn and apply Water Rescue Techniques as well as learn about First Aid and CPR. Our program encourages the importance of being fit and how to safely enjoy aquatic facilities! Through this program, participants will build self-confidence and skills for life!

Pre-requisites: Swim Front Crawl for 25 yards while side breathing, Swim Breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence, tread water for 1 minute using arms and legs, ability to float on the back for 30 seconds, and submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater.​

Fee: $300 member; $350 non-member (no additional materials required)

 

100% Attendance and participation is required for all certification courses.  

We do not offer refunds for any certification course.  

 

Participants should bring the following items to class:

swimsuit & towel, sunscreen, water, lunch & snacks and a notebook.
