We have listened to you, and as a result, we
have beefed up our Saturday and Sunday Stroke Clinic! This
year, you will find the following improvements to our
program:
• Coaches Jorge, Nathan, Kevin, and Beth
will serve as lane coaches.
• Coach Brooke will circulate in the water
during clinic to work with swimmers individually.
• We have designed a progressive list of
swimming skills that each lane will work to achieve in a manner
appropriate to the swimmers’ ages and skill
levels.
• We will hand out “report
cards” at the end of the 10-week session so that parents can
note specific progress and be advised of appropriate placement for
their children in the next session.
• Coach Brooke will review lesson plans
with each lane coach weekly to ensure that time is being used
wisely.
Stroke Clinic is a great option for swimmers
of all ages! It is a smart alternative for older swimmers who
participate in other activities to keep their swimming skills fresh
in the off-season.
We are proud of the expertise and
experience our coaches bring to the Tiburones Stroke Clinic this
year. There will be five senior coaches participating in the
program:
• Jorge Silva, head coach and owner of
the Tiburones
• Nathan Meadows, head age group coach and
senior program administrator
• Brooke Hoffman, clinic director and
MCPS teacher
• Beth Silva, TIBU program director and
teacher
• Kevin Callanan, TIBU age group
coach
You can read
more about these coaches at our web site in the
‘Coaches’ Bio’ section. We would also like
to introduce the following additional Stroke Clinic
lane-coaches:
• Brad Buckley, graduate of Salisbury
University, NCAA All-American and varsity team captain, veteran
coach
• Christi Main, MCSL coach, graduate of
Salisbury University and the TIBU Sr. Competition
