General Information
Meets start at 7:30am and generally last until 12:00 -
1:00pm.
If the meet is at home, volunteer check in is at 6:00am
and warm ups begin at 6:15am. If the meet is away, warm
up time will vary and ending time will depend on the size of their
pool.
Late for Meet Policy
In order to make meet mornings go as smooth possible, the coaching
staff is asking that all swimmers check in with their pit parents
prior to warm-up at all meets. If your child is not
checked before warm-ups, they will be dropped from their first
relay. We understand that life happens and this can get
in the way of being on time so the change will only be for the
first relay, your child will still be in their individual events
and the last relay. Thank you for cooperation in this
matter.
Meet Preparation
Watch the Weather !!!
If it's chilly in the morning, bring sweats; if it is
going to be hot, bring sunscreen and a hat to cover
up. And, as always, please bring water, 2 towels, a cap,
goggles, and don't forget to wear your swimsuit.
On Friday before a Meet, stay out of the sun to
avoid sunburn and fatigue. Eat a good meal (pasta,
pancakes, waffles) loaded with carbs for long-term
energy. Go to bed early so you get plenty of rest.
Don't forget a Noisemaker (empty a can - fill it
with rocks or pennies and cover it with ducktape) to make lots of
noise.
Meet Rules
Swimmers are allowed to compete in a maximum of 3 individual events
and 2 relays (1 relay for 6 and Under) each week. All event
requests will be considered, however the coaches will make the
final decision with the team's best interest in mind. The coaches
will determine all relay positions. Also, minimum requirements must
be met before swimmers are allowed to compete in each event.
Swimmers will only be allowed to compete in events they have
completed legally at practice.
Meet information will be in the newsletter each week. If your
swimmer is late to the meet, they may be scratched from relays and
possibly individual events. Your teammates may also lose the
opportunity to swim if you are late, so please plan on arriving no
less than 15 minutes prior to warm-up.
Things you will Need for the Meet
Consider bringing Team Swim Suit, Team Cap, Towels, Team Shirt,
Goggles, Bottle of Water, Books, Games, and a Blanket to sit or lie
down on. And don't forget the Sun Block and Ear Drops. Remember to
label all your items with both your name and your team name.
