Policies & Procedure


General Rules
  1. Pool manager shall have the authority over the activities of members and guests on pool property.

  2. Members and their guest must obey lifeguards at all times. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce the following disciplinary actions after a verbal warning has been issued and not adhered to:
           • Time out of the pool
           • Out of pool for the rest of the day

  3. Cost of damage to Club property will be charged to the responsible member. The member shall be responsible for damage incurred by his guests.

  4. Bicycles will be confined to designated areas.

  5. All members must sign the pool log each time they swim or play tennis. Members must sign in for their guests.

  6. All guests must have a guest ticket and be accompanied by a their host member at all times. Guests are not allowed to buy guest tickets. Members must purchase Guest tickets only.

  7. Profanity, improper behavior and vulgar remarks are prohibited.

  8. Radios are allowed if kept low as not to disturb others.

  9. ADULT SWIM-no one under 18 years of age is allowed on deck. FAMILY SWIM-no one under 18 years of age is allowed unless accompanied by an adult. LAP SWIM is for those 12 years of age and older.

  10. No skates, skateboards, or bikes are allowed on deck.

  1. No smoking is allowed.

  2. No food or beverages in glass containers of any kind are allowed.

  3. Members and their guest must clean up after themselves. All garbage must be put into the appropriate containers. Large amounts of garbage must be taken out to the main dumpster in the parking lot.


  5. No pets are allowed within the fenced area. Do not let your pet follow you to the Club.


  7. Admission will be refused to all persons with skin abrasions, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, ear discharge, infections and those wearing bandages. NO BAND AIDS allowed.

  8. Spitting, blowing the nose, or depositing any foreign matter into the pool is prohibited.

  1. Running, wrestling, pushing, dunking, or other harmful acts of horseplay are prohibited.

  2. Only one person is allowed on the diving board at one time. No repeated bouncing on the diving board. Do not dive from the sides of the diving board.

  3. Do not dive or jump in from the lifeguard chairs.

  4. Backward diving from the edge of the pool is dangerous and should only be done under supervision.

  5. No diving in the shallow end of the pool.

  6. Do not swim in the diving area.

  7. Children using swim aids and other flotation devices for the non-swimmer (such as water wings, seat rings, and lifejackets) must be accompanied by an adult or responsible babysitter IN THE WATER AT ALL TIMES.

  8. Water toys, such as noodles, may only be used during Family Swim, and then at the discretion of the lifeguards.

  9. Toddlers, preschool and primary school-aged children only are allowed in the wading (baby) pool. This does not restrict parents and babysitters from playing with their children in the pool. PARENTS MUST CONSTANTLY WATCH THEIR OWN CHILDREN IN THE WADING POOL. THERE ARE NO LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY AT THE WADING POOL.

  10. Children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult or responsible babysitter at all times, even if they have passed their Swim Test.

Swim Test
Children under age 10 will be required to take a swim test to evaluate their safety level. Children must pass the Swim Test if a responsible adult or babysitter does not accompany them to the pool. Check in with the lifeguard on duty for a Swim Test. The Swim Test includes 1 lap of freestyle (without holding onto the wall), 3 minutes of treading water, and 1 minute of back floating.

Party Rules
  1. Groups of 15 or more are asked to notify the pool office staff 24 hours in advance of group gatherings.

  2. Guest passes are required for each non-member attending private parties if they will be using either the pool or tennis courts.

  3. BBQ's are provided as a membership convenience. Propane tanks will be filled prior to each swim meet hosted at GSSC. Members planning to use the BBQ's should confirm there is sufficient propane available.

  4. A driver's license or car keys must be left with the office staff as a cleaning deposit for the use of the BBQ's. BBQ's must be properly cleaned after use. Utensils are available in the office.

  5. No glass containers of any kind are allowed in the pool area.

  6. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on Club premises according to the Bylaws.

  7. Tables must be cleaned after use. Please bring appropriate supplies.

  8. Garbage must be placed in the dumpster located in the parking are (not in the garbage cans in the pool area).

  9. Standard pool rules apply to guests as well as members.

  10. Noise must be kept at a level that is not offensive to other people using the pool, or to the neighbors.
