NATIONAL PREP

The National Prep Group

Ages:

12 to Post-Graduate

Focus:

The National Prep Group is our top training group in our program.  National Prep swimmers have established themselves through competitive results and have made swimming their top athletic activity.  They are expected to maintain at or near 100% attendance while in the group, and can be asked to return to the Senior group if they can’t make the commitment required for National Prep.  This group is a serious training group for motivated and committed swimmers who want to pursue Regional, National and hopefully someday international competition.  Swimmers from the Senior Group and Gold Group are promoted to the National Prep Group after meeting the National Prep Group requirements outlined in the group criteria part of this handbook. These promotions typically will take place at the beginning of a season.  The technique to training ratio for the National Prep Group is about 15% technique to 85% training on a daily basis. National Prep swimmers also have dryland workouts on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in addition to swimming.

Competitions:

Swimmers in the National Prep Group are expected to compete on a regular basis each season.  National Prep Group swimmers will typically attend 1 to 2 meets per month throughout the year.  The National Prep Group will also travel more regionally than other swimmers.
