We are glad to see you are
interested in joining the Blue Fins
Joining the Blue Fins is an easy
process.
Here’s how you can
become a part of the Blue Fin’s
Team!
1.
The first step is to contact the Blue Fins. Many families arrange time to
meet at the pool with one of our coaches to learn first-hand about
our team. We also hold
try outs on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. at the
pool.
2.
All swimmers must complete a registration form, a medical release
form, code of conduct form, and turn in a copy of the child’s
birth certificate. If
a new member has competed for another USA Swimming team in the
previous four months, a transfer form must also be
completed.
3.
Our coaches will want to meet the swimmer first hand. The coach may want to watch the
athlete swim in order to place them in the appropriate training
group. Coaches will simply be choosing
the most effective training group for each swimmer.
4.
Start having fun!
Once
you are a new member there are things you can do to help you get
into the flow of being a active Blue
Fin
1.
Ask
Questions. Ask Coaches, ask other
parents, ask swimmers, email your coaches! There is a lot going on with a
team. Situations come up and as they do ask someone who
knows.
2.
Attend
Meetings. When ever CCS schedule
meetings, please attend.
3.
Check the
Web-Site. Our site will be updated on a
regular basis and there is always something new added. In addition, each member will
have a log-in so they can check information specific to their
practice times, meet entries, best times, meet results, and billing
information.
4.
Check
mailboxes. Each family has a folder
located at their practice location. Forms, news letters, memos, etc.
are placed in these folders on a regular basis.
5.
Attend practices and
Meets. When joining a competitive team,
practices and swim meets are the important factors of belonging to
the Blue Fins.
