Thank you for taking a few moments to read about Stafford Aquatic
Team (STAT), a locally operated, non-profit 501(c)(3) swim team
based in Stafford County, Virginia. STAT began 3 years ago out of
an overwhelming desire to provide a high quality, competitive, year
round aquatics program for children ages 7 to 18. We are a member
run organization that ensures all decisions are always made in the
best interests of our swimmers. STAT is affiliated with
Virginia Swimming, Inc. and USA Swimming, Inc., the regional and
national governing bodies for the
sport.
Swimming is an excellent activity in which to build strong
foundations for all future life experiences. As individuals,
swimmers learn to set personal goals and to dedicate themselves to
achieving them. As team mates, swimmers learn the value of team
work, good sportsmanship and grow to become responsible
contributors to their communities. Increased confidence, improved
self-esteem, commitment to personal and community growth, and
personal fitness are all by-products of the sport. Competition and
practice become tools for learning the values of goal setting and
hard work for the intrinsic rewards these activities
bring.
Additionally, our swimmers create lasting friendships, have fun and
develop a life-long interest in swimming and leading a healthy,
active lifestyle.
Our coaches have a combined 75+ years of aquatics coaching
experience, and offer the area’s finest swimming instruction.
As members of the American Swim Coaches Association, they have
access to the most comprehensive training and certification program
of any youth sport in the United States. Participation in these
programs provides assurance that the time our children spend in the
pool with our coaches is time well spent. Between our
coaches’ guidance and our kids’ hard work, many of our
senior swimmers have received college scholarships and competed at
the National level.
All quality organizations need financial resources in order to
achieve their goals. STAT is no exception. We are constantly
growing, training, and supporting swimmers of all ages and
abilities to achieve the highest levels of success in the sport. We
rely on three basic means of financial support: individual and
corporate sponsors, fundraising activities and registration fees.
We are asking for your financial support by becoming an individual
or corporate sponsor. Your donation is tax-deductible and we will
gladly provide you with a receipt for tax
purposes.
Your contribution will help expand our swimming programs, pay
operating expenses, provide lane time, purchase new equipment and
keep our program fees low. Additionally, your donation allows us to
provide financial assistance to swimmers who qualify at the
national level. Many times, families bear the brunt of these travel
costs themselves. Most importantly, your contribution will allow
STAT to continue to offer our local kids an opportunity to
participate in a high quality sports program that remains
affordable.
