Novice Group: Introduction to competitive swimming. Needs
to be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke reasonably
well without stopping. Goal is to work towards becoming legal
in all 4 strokes. Emphasis is on technique. Minimum of
2 practices each week. Ages 6 and up.
Age
Group: Continued emphasis
on technique with increased yardage. Swimmer will compete in
all four strokes. Introduction to goal setting. Minimum
of 3 practices each week. Ages 8 and
up.
Age Group
Advanced: For those
swimmers preparing to make the jump to Junior Group.
Continued emphasis on technique. Race strategies
introduced. Swimmer will compete in a variety of
events. Minimum of 3 practices each week. Dryland
training is included. Ages 10 and
up.
Junior
Group: Increased training
intensity and yardage. Longer competitive events.
Swimmers starting to focus on swimming as primary sport. Goal
setting and nutrition are stressed. Minimum of 4 practices
each week. Dryland training is included. Ages 11 to
15.
Senior Group:
Most serious and committed group of the
team. Swimming holds athletic priority to the group.
Coaches want the swimmers to reach their potential. Goal
setting and nutrition are stressed. Dryland Training is
included.
High School
Prep:
A 9-week program that runs in the fall prior
to the HS season. This program is intended for the
experienced HS swimmer that does not wish to participate on the
club level. HS Prep will be offered Monday through
Thursday.
Summer Prep: A 9-week program that
runs in the spring and allows the experienced summer league swimmer
an opportunity to train prior to the start of the summer
season. Conditioning, stroke technique, starts and turns will
all be included in this program.
