For Beginning Competitive
Swimmers
Minnows Group
The Peoria Area Water Wizards Swim Team invites your child
to participate in an exciting program for beginning swimmers who
are interested in learning the basics of competitive swimming. This
program will offer a basic introduction to the 4 competitive
strokes used in swimming and the other skills necessary to swim
competitively. This will be a program with an emphasis on fun in
the water, and learning the correct techniques to swim
competitvely. Swimmers in our Minnows group are not required to
join USA Swimming or compete in any of our
competitions. We simply want to offer a way for your
swimmer to learn to be a better swimmer and find out if he/she
might wish to further their interest in the sport of swimming. This
class will be taught by our high school athletes with one of the
PAWW coaches overseeing the program. We offer 2-45 minute classes
per week; typically on Friday and Sunday. We do not
require swimmers to be at every pratice.
The monthly cost of this program is $31 for
residents of Peoria, and $36 for non-residents. Space is limited
and if you would like to find out more about this program, you
can call (309) 712-PAWW Monday through Friday between 2 pm and
5:15 pm and ask to speak to Ivan Borissov. Or you can contact Ivan
through his email address: Ivan@PAWW.org.
Swimming is a great sport that your
child can use for his or her entire life. Whether for fitness or
for fun, it’s comforting to know that your child is
proficient in the water. We would like to see your swimmer in this
season.
