Neptune alumnae Jennifer Sims (UC San Diego)
and Allie Stuhr (SRJC) had notable collegiate
performances over the February 21st weekend. Sims took 2nd in
the 100 Fly and won the 200 Fly at the Pacific Collegiate Swim
Conference Meet in Long Beach, helping UCSD win the conference
crown. Stuhr won the 100 Back in a SRJC school record time of
59.37, leading the Bear Cubs to a dominating team victory at the
Panther Invitational at Sac City College.
Friday the 13th was a lucky day for Neptune alumna
Kelsey Louden. She swam career
bests in the 100 (1:04.80) and 200 Breaststroke
(2:20.90) for UCLA against USC in their last dual meet of the
2009 season. Kelsey shared the pool with Rebecca Soni of USC,
the 2008 Olympic Gold medallist and WR holder in the 200m Breast,
who won both of these events at the meet.

Former Neptune Penelope Yamauchi, now a
freshman at Arizona State, got her NCAA swimming career
off to a great start on October 17. In her first college
competition, a dual meet against Kansas, Penelope took first in the
200IM and 200 Breast, and 2nd in the 200 Free. Click

Neptune alumna and current University of California Golden
Bears sophomore Amanda Sims was among the
athletes named to the USA World University Games Team that will
compete in Belgrade, Serbia July 5-11, 2009. Amanda qualified
to compete in the 100 Fly based on her third place finish at the
2008 US Open in Minneapolis.
