The Vallejo Aquatics Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Vallejo Aquatics Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Hammerheads 1  

  • Entry level swimmers ages 5-10 years
  • Able to swim 25 yards freestyle without stopping
    • With face in water
    • With side breathing
  • Able to swim 25 yards backstroke without stopping.
  • Able to perform breaststroke and butterfly kick and has basic knowledge of the breaststroke and butterfly stroke.
  • Able to swim in the deep end
  • Able to perform a somersault in water
  • Attend at least 3 practices per week
  • Attend at least 2 swim meets per year.
  • Emphasis on fun and learning

Group Goals

  • Swim a 100 yard I.M. legally.
  • To be able to streamline off of every wall.
  • To be able to perform open turns and flip turns.
  • To be able to circle swim and have good lane edict.
  • To be able to perform a head first dive.

 

Hammerheads 2  

  • Entry level swimmers ages 10-13 years
  • Able to swim 25 yards freestyle without stopping
    • With face in water
    • With side breathing
  • Able to swim 25 yards backstroke without stopping.
  • Able to perform breaststroke and butterfly kick and has basic knowledge of the breaststroke and butterfly stroke.
  • Able to swim in the deep end
  • Able to perform a somersault in water
  • Attend at least 3 practices per week
  • Attend at least 2 swim meets per year.

Leopard Sharks

  • Intermediate & Advanced level swimmers ages 7-10.
  • Able to swim 200 yards Freestyle without stopping and with flip turns
  • Able to swim a 100 yard I.M. legally
  • Able to streamline kick of all walls
  • Able to attend team designated meets
  • Able to attend at least 4 practices per week
  • Able to perform a head first dive, flip turn, and open turn
  • Increased level of intensity and commitment expected

Group Goals:

  • Learn a breaststroke pull-out
  • Be able to dolphin kick in a streamline past the backstroke flags in Freestyle, backstroke, and Butterfly.
  • Be able to swim 500 Freestyle with flip turns and without stopping in 8:30.
  • Be able to read the pace clock and use basic intervals.

 

Makos Group

  • Intermediate level swimmers 11-15 years of age
  • Able to swim 200 yards Freestyle without stopping and with flip turns
  • Able to swim a 100 yard I.M. legally
  • Able to streamline kick of all walls
  • Able to perform a head first dive, flip turn, and open turn
  • Able to attend at least 4 practices per week
  • Able to attend 6 swim meets per year

  • Able to swim 8x100 Free on the 1:45 interval
  • Able to swim 6x100 IM on the 2:00 interval
  • Able to attend all team designated meets and all championship meets.
  • Able to attend at least 4 practices per week in Winter/Spring and 6 practices per week in the Summer
  • Extensive biomechanics in all four strokes, starts and turns including the Individual Medley
  • Increased level of intensity and commitment expected

Group Goals:

  • Swim in High School  and or College

 

Senior Group:

  • Elite level swimmers ages 13 and older
  • Able to do a 500 Freestyle in 6:30
  • Able to do 10 x 100 Freestyle on 1:25
  • Able to do 8 x 100 IM on 1:45
  • Able to attend 7 practices a week (2 morning and 5 afternoon practices)
  • Able to attend all team designated meets and all qualified championship meets
  • Extensive biomechanics in all four strokes, starts and turns including the Individual Medley
  • Increased level of intensity and commitment expected

Group Goals:

  • Swim in High School and College

 

High School Fitness Group  (May 1st –Aug 3rd 2017)
Vallejo Aquatics is excited to offer the High School Fitness Swim Program; designed for intermediate and experienced high school swimmers and/or water polo players seeking swim workouts to improve endurance, stamina, and speed during the off season months. This program is the perfect way to prepare for the high school swim and water polo season and a great complement to other athletic endeavors.
Requirements: Be able to swim across the pool and comfortable in the deep end
Goals: Improve stroke technique, develop racing skills and strategies, build endurance and stamina, and prepare for the high school swim season.
Dates: May 1st 2017 through August 3rd, 2017
Schedule: 4:00-5:30pm Monday-Thursday 
Fees: $400 for the Summer Season (Includes Pacific Swimming Registration Fee of $45 and VJO swim cap)
 
 
 
SUMMER PRE-TEAM SWIM PROGRAM 2017 (May 1st –July 31st 2017)
Vallejo Aquatics is excited to offer the Summer Pre-Team Swim Program; designed for beginner level swimmers wanting to join and be part of the swim team. This program is the perfect way to learn to swim and get swim team ready.
Requirements: Must be able to swim a length of the pool (25 yards) and be comfortable in the deep end.
Goals: Swim a length of the pool (25 yards) freestyle using side breathing, swim and length of the pool (25 yards) backstroke without stopping, learn the basics of breaststroke, learn the basics of butterfly, learn a front somersault, learn a head first dive
Dates:  Session #1 -  May 1st – May 31st 2017 (No Class May 22nd & May 29th)
            Session #2  - June 1st- June 29th 2017 (No Class June 27th)
            Session #3 -  July 3rd – July 31st 2017 (No Class July 4th & July 11th)
Schedule: 5:30-6:15pm Monday-Thursday 
Fees: $80 per month & $45 Pacific Swimming Summer Registration Fee (onetime fee, good for entire summer)
