Swim Lessons  
2009- 2010 Sessions
 
  • Session 1:       Sept 8 - Sept 30
  • Session 2:      Oct 5 - Oct 29
  • Session 3:      Nov 3 - Nov 30
  • Session 4:       Jan 5 - Jan 27
  • Session 5:   Feb 8 - Mar 2
  • Session 6:   Mar 3 - April 1
  • Session 7:   April 7 - April 29
·   Evaluation Dates:  9/3, 10/1, 11/2, 1/4, 2/4, 3/1, 4/5 at 6:00 p.m.

 
  • Each session consists of 7 lessons (Mon/Wed) or (Tue/Thur) All 30 minutes per lesson.
  • Class Times range from 5 to 7 p.m. based on class level and availability on evaluation day. 
  • Lesson Fees: $55 per session for first child, $35 per session for each additional child from same family.    
  • Swimmer to coach ratio is 4 to 1.
  • Swimmers are placed into one of four levels: Beginner I, Beginner II, Team Prep I and Team Prep II.

No pre sign-up is needed. Just show up on the evaluation day before the session date you wish to attend.
 
 
  • Can safely enter and exit water independently
  • Comfortable in water with instructor
  • Submerges face and head for 5 seconds
  • Holds breath underwater and blows bubbles
  • Kicks freestyle on wall
  • Kicks freestyle with kickboard
  • Supported front float for 5 seconds
  • Unsupported front float for 5 seconds
  • Supported back float for 5 seconds
  • Unsupported back float for 5 seconds
  • Introduced to freestyle arm movement
  • Supported front glide
  • Unsupported front glide
  • Supported back glide
  • Unsupported back glide

  • Flutter kick with kickboard for 25 yards
  • Unsupported front glide with kick for 15 yards

  • Swim freestyle 25 yards
  • Introduced to rotary breathing
  • Unsupported back glide with kick 15 yards
  • Kick on side with arms at side (back)
  • Kick on side with one arm extended (back)
  • Flutter kick with kickboard 25 yards
  • Kick on side with arms at side (free)
  • Kick on side without kickboard with one arm extended (free)
  • Swim freestyle 25 yards with appropriate breathing technique
  • Kick on side with arms at side (back)
  • Kick on side with one arm extended (back)
  • Swim backstroke 25 yards
  • Breaststroke kick with kickboard 25 yards
  • Demonstrate breaststroke flutter kick drill
  • Demonstrate breaststroke dolphin drill
  • Skulling with bouy (front & wind shield wiper)
  • Swim breaststroke with appropriate timing
  • Flutter kick with kickboard 50 yards
  • Kick on side with arms at side (free)
  • Kick on side without kickboard with one arm extended (free)
  • Swim freestyle 50 yards with appropriate breathing technique
  • Kick on side with arms at side (back)
  • Kick on side with one arm extended (back)
  • Swim backstroke 50 yards
