For Swimmers
Recreational swimming is divided into age groups, with boys and
girls competing against swimmers of their own gender in the
appropriate age group. They are as follows: 6 & under, 7-8,
9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18. The cut-off date for any particular age
group is May 15th of that year, so a child will compete in whatever
age group he or she is in on that date.
General Eligibility /
Requirements

The swimmer must not have reached his/her 19th birthday by May 15,
2009.

The swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool safely and
not be afraid to put his/her face in the water.

The swimmer must have basic swim skills but is not required to know
each stroke to join.

With the exception of high school swimmers, a swimmer joining the
Ripon Sea Lions must not have swum competitively with any league
after November 1, 2008.
Please Note:
A swim camp will be offered through Ervin Zador’s swim team
(separate from the Ripon Sea Lions) for swimmers who need a little
extra help in meeting the basic swim requirements for joining the
Ripon Sea Lions.
