BOARD OF DIRECTORS
BOARD POSITIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRESIDENT
and VICE
PRESIDENT will work together to:

Call special meetings
·
Review and set club policies and procedures
·
Conduct meetings
·
Review coaching contracts
·
Provide counseling to coaches, board members, committee members
etc
·
Provide long range planning
VICE PRESIDENT
– additional responsibilities
·
Succeed President
·
Educating new members
·
Selecting team representatives
·
Communicating with parent representatives
TREASURER
·
Billing and collecting monthly dues
·
Establishing the budget
·
Maintaining a relationship with the bank, i.e. make deposits,
etc
·
Provide a monthly and year end financial report
·
Paying bills
·
Processing payroll and benefits
·
File necessary tax reports
SECRETARY
·
Keep accurate minutes of meetings and distribute to board
members
FUNDRAISING
·
Implement a fundraising program for major sponsors and smaller meet
contributors
·
Establish target list of corporate sponsors
·
Maintain contact with existing and potential corporate
sponsors
·
Manage relationships with corporate sponsors
·
Heat sheet advertising and promotion of the club
·
Other activities as voted on by the board
MEET DIRECTOR
·
Work with meet director
·
Coordinate all aspects of club sponsored meets
·
Responsible for all club equipment
·
Work with head coach to schedule swim meet dates in conjunction
with available facilities
OFFICIALS
·
Responsible for recruiting and developing club
officials
·
Responsible for coordinating officials for club sponsored
meets
SPIRIT
·
Organize dinners and other key events (golf, movies, canoeing,
etc.) to enhance team spirit
·
Organize banquet locations, menu, time, awards and
agenda
·
Maintain and manage spirit wear items to be sold to club
members
·
Organize parade float and participations
·
Order meet shirts and heat sheets to be sold at club sponsored
events
VOLUNTEERS
·
Coordinate all
staffing for club sponsored meets
HOSPITALITY AND CONCESSIONS
·
Plan menu for club sponsored events
·
Purchase items for events
·
Clean and set up areas before events
·
Tear down and clean up both areas after events
COMMUNICATIONS
·
Coordinate advertising into local papers
·
Coordinate a monthly newsletter with head coach
·
Distribute flyers to all schools
·
Take and collect pictures of club members
·
Maintain pool bulletin boards
·
Maintain member folders
·
Maintain an active roster of members
·
Coordinate website and emails
ORGANIZATIONAL
·
Oversee development
of committees
HEAD COACH
·
Conduct parent meetings
·
Maintain team records
·
Submit meet entries
·
Supervise and develop coaching staff
·
Provide meet entry information to treasurer for
billing
·
Maintain proof book
·
Work with all committee chairpersons as needed
