Under
This is our entry level group. An athlete need
not be able to swim to enter this group, all we ask is that the
swimmer be able to put their face in the water and to not be afraid
of the water. At this age swimmers can swim in the kickboard
event. Also, if they are able, they can swim in the other
events:
25 Yard Freestyle
25 Yard Backstroke
25 Yard Breaststroke
25 Yard Butterfly.
7 and 8 years of
age
For this group the swimmers can swim in the
following events, against other 7 to 8 year old swimmers:
25 Yard Freestyle
25 Yard Backstroke
25 Yard Breaststroke
25 Yard Butterfly
100 Yard Individual Medley (25 yards of each of
the four strokes)
9 to 18
years of age
For this group the swimmers can swim in the
following events:
50 Yard Freestyle
50 Yard Backstroke
50 Yard Breaststroke
50 Yard Butterfly
100 Yard Individual Medley (25 yards of each of
the four strokes)
There are multiple age divisions within this
level:
9 - 10
11 - 12
13 - 14
15 - 18
Swimmer
Groupings CASL sets time standards for each age group for in each
event. There is a Gold and Silver time standard. Any
swimmer below the Silver time standard is classified as a bronze
swimmer. This process lets swimmers compete against other
swimmers at their same skill level.
