Welcome to The YMCA Presidio
Aquatics Club - Home of the Pirates
The YMCA Presidio Aquatics
Club (YPAC) is a year-round United States Swimming
(USS) competitive swim team offering high-quality professional
coaching and technique instruction for swimmers aged 7-18 years
old, and for all abilities. The goal of our team is to provide
every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve
success at his or her level of ability, from novice to advanced
competitor, while encouraging teamwork and support of all team
members in achieving their own personal bests.
The Presidio Pirates, as
the team is called, is a member of Pacific Swimming Zone 3, and
competes in monthly meets in the Bay Area.
All of our coaches, as members
of the American Swim Coaches Association, have access to the most
comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches
of any sport in the United States. This assures that the time
children spend in swimming will be quality time.
The YMCA Presidio
Aquatics Club, under the auspices of the non-profit Presidio
YMCA, is advised by its Parents Advisory Council (PAC PAC). All
members are welcome at every meeting and encouraged to be involved
in team activities and fundraisers.

First
Mates
The YMCA Presidio Aquatics
Club also offers a "First Mates" program as a stepping stone
between swim lessons and the competitive youth swim team.
This non-competitive class meets twice per week, giving students
either the basic skills needed for participation with the
competitive swim team or a non-competitive alternative with a low
Instructor:Participant ratio. Swimmers work on building
endurance and refining stroke technique.
Mission Statement
To CHALLENGE participants to
reach for greater heights; to INSPIRE participants to find passion
in all of their endeavors; to UNITE participants as members of a
team.
