Blue Dolphin Swimming
offers a variety of services to our swimmers that you simply do not
get ANYWHERE else. Just another reason why the Blue Dolphins are
the Team that can’t be Beat!
Blue Dolphins puts a
high emphasis on Academic Excellence for all of our athletes! We
recognize the importance of good grades and we know that it is
often hard for parents and children to balance a demanding sport
and their schoolwork. To assist our athletes in reaching their
highest academic achievement, we provide free homework study groups
and free supervised tutoring to all of our members. Anyone wishing
to participate may simply show up at 6:00 on Wednesday.
Additionally one on one tutoring is available for free on the
weekends by appointment only.
Team Practice suits are
provided free of charge to all swimmers and may be replaced for
free up to 4 times per year. This can amount to a savings of over
$240 per swimmer every year! We currently supply FastBack suits for
girls and SpeedLine Briefs for boys. This material is designed to
last a year or longer, but we will gladly replace your suits for
free every three months as warranted.
Our club offers
instruction to the swimmers using an underwater speaker. This
system allows our coaches to give immediate feedback to swimmers
while they are practicing rather than waiting for the swimmers to
finish an entire set. The result is significantly improved stroke
technique which results in significantly faster swimmers. In
addition our team utilizes an underwater video system for analyzing
stroke technique. This is the same system used by Olympic caliber
training camps. Our coaches are specialists in video stroke
analysis and can use these tools to improve your swimmer’s
abilities to their fullest potential. No other club can offer a
program like this!
One of the biggest
problems in swimming is that we tend to reward 8 year olds exactly
the same as 15 year olds, we give them a medal or a ribbon. While
this is very exciting when you are young, this can get old hat by
the time you get to be a bit older. Blue Dolphin Swimming offers a
fun program for our kids that allows them to choose their OWN
rewards! Each time a child receives a ribbon or a medal at a meet,
they earn Dolphin Points. These points may be traded in for prizes
ranging from an iPod for teens to action figures for younger
children. The point is, the individual child decides what prize
they want based on their own earned points.
As part of our
commitment to academic as well as athletic excellence, Blue Dolphin
Swimming encourages all of its athletes to read! Simply bring your
book to practice to have it approved, then read the book and
present an oral report. You will earn a credit for the number of
pages you read that may be redeemed at a practice of your choice.
Simply inform the coach that you are using your "book yards" and
you may choose what you do during any set, up to the number of
earned yards. This is great to use on a Friday fun day so that you
can choose the activity!
Blue Dolphin
Swimming promotes its unique brand of swimming instruction across
the United States and across the world. We encourage our swimmers
to see new places and experience new cultures as often as possible.
To help make this a reality, Blue Dolphin Swimming will pay the
FULL trip price for international meets for qualifying swimmers
based on attendence.
For example, Each year we have an annual trip to compete against
our sister team in Aruba - the Aruba Dolphins. Any swimmer that has
a 100% attendence record for 5x days per week pays NOTHING for a
one week trip to Aruba in early November. Swimmers who have a
perfect attendece of 3x per week will pay only 60% of the travel
costs, 2x per week would pay 40% and so on.
In addition we teach other coaches and swim teams around the world
our unique swimming methods. Swimmers are encouraged to come along
to these clinics whenever possible.

We know that a lot of
kids have more team spirit than they know what to do with. In an
effort to pay them back, Blue Dolphin Swimming will cover all costs
of any swimmer that decides to support the team by getting a "Blue
Dolphin" mohawk, including approved travel and out of state
clinics. And what is a Blue Dolphin Mohawk you ask? Simply shave a
dolphin into each side of your head, then completely remove the
rest of the hair on each side leaving a single line of long hair
down the middle from front to back. Spike that up in the air and
dye it blue and there ya go - a "Blue" - "Dolphin" mohawk.
We’ve had so many kids take us up on this over the years that
we’ve actually written it into the By-Laws! You swim free for
as long as you keep the mohawk.
