DCST Program
The DCST swim program was established in 1980 to
provide a year round high quality swim program which is open to all
boys and girls from early grade school to post high school within
and outside of
DeKalb
County
. As part of the Kishwaukee YMCA,
DCST is a non-profit, volunteer administered and professionally
coached program that teaches and adheres to the YMCA core values of
Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. DCST has produced many local,
state and national level swimmers throughout its history. This program continues to
be available at a reasonable cost to families of all income levels
because of the commitment of the Kishwaukee YMCA, DCST coaches and
parent volunteers.
Facilities
As part of the
Kishwaukee YMCA, DCST is equipped with one of the finest
competitive facilities in
Illinois
. We have
been fortunate to be able to
host numerous Championship meets
at our home facility. Part of
that
ability is due to our existing scoreboard. Unfortunately,
that scoreboard is nearing the end of its
useful
life. It has needed
numerous repairs over the past couple of seasons and replacement
parts are becoming nonexistent.
In order to maintain the competitive level of our facility, the
scoreboard will need to be replaced in the next year. The current replacement cost for
a comparable scoreboard is approximately $65,000. For that reason, all proceeds
from this event will go to the DCST Scoreboard Replacement
Fund.
