Metro Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the MAC to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Beginners 1 & 2

This is our entry level swim team group. An athlete needs to be able to swim to enter this group. From our Swim School Athletes move in to this group which focuses mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.

Intermediate 1

From the Beginner's 2 group, athletes move into this group. This group is exposed to training designed to prepare the athletes for the 50's and 100's distance races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.
Intermediate 1 Group Coach: Norman

Intermediate 2

From the intermediate 1 group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 11 years old and have completed the intermediate 1 Group move-up skills list. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.

Advanced 1

Minimum age for entry into this group is 13 years old.This group has a wide variety of ability with the same goals, to achieve AA-AAA time standards.  Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis.  Five afternoons, various mornings as well as Saturday morning will be required.  Competing at one swim meet a month is expected. Training includes elite level technique with the combination of a great deal of aerobic/anerobic work. Athletes in this group train for the 400 Individual Medley and 1000 Freestyles.
Advanced 2 Group Coach:
Brandon & Kevin

Equipment:  Paddles, snorkel, MAC mesh bag, large kick board, rubber fins, and cords.

Advanced 2

Minimum age for entry into this group is 13 (girls) or 13 (boys). Athletes entering our advanced 2 group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Practice Monday-Friday, as well as morning workouts and Saturday workouts are mandatory.  At 13 they will attend Wednesdays, at 14 Monday and Wednesdays, and at 15 they must attend Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.  Training is geared towards individual talents while developing a strong aerobic base. Athletes in the advanced 2 group will work towards making their Sectional Time Standards.  Advanced 2 Group Coach: Brandon

Senior's//National

Minimum criteria for entry is (2) Two Sectional time standard and a desire to be competitive on a College/National level. This group focuses on qualifying for Jr National's/National's every year and Olympic Trials every 4 years. Minimum training sets for entry include:

10x100 @ 1:10
4X200IM @ 2:45

10x100 K @ 1:40
and two sectional cuts
