The Superior Stingray
Swimming Team offers training and
practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is
the goal of the Superior Stingray Swimming
Team to offer age specific training for all of our
athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing
each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Programs
Pre-Team /
Sharks Group
Ages: 6-9

Practices / week Mon-Thur 3:30-4:15pm
The purpose of
the Pre-Team and Sharks will be to prepare incoming swimmers
to meet the minimum entry requirements for the age-group
program, with emphasis on water adjustment, posture, balance and
strong stroke fundamentals. The Pre-Team is mostly for those
swimmers who are working towards learning Freestyle and
Backstroke, The Sharks are working towards learning all
four strokes and are able to compete in the teams swim
meets. We
suggest attending atleast 2 practices per week to allow for maximum
learning potential.
Age Group
I
Ages:
8-12
5 Practices / week
Mon-Fri 4:15-5:15pm
This group is
designed for the swimmer who can legally swim all 4 competitive
strokes. The group will refine stroke technique through the
development of posture, line and balance in the water. They will
continue to refine and develop starts and turns. This group has a
strong emphasis on technical development. We suggest an
attendance of 3 days per week for this
group.
Age Group
II: 5 Practices / week Mon-Fri
4:15-5:30pm
Ages:
9-14
Practices will
began to intensify for these two levels with a continuing emphasis
on technical development both in stroke development and
introduction of race strategies and goal setting. Swimmers will be
introduced to strength training on land, through the use of body
weight exercises. We suggest 4-5 practices per week for this
training group.
Advanced Age-Group and Senior
Groups:
Ages: 11 & Up
5-6
Practices / week Mon-Fri 5:15-7:00pm and
Saturday 8-9:30am
Swimmers are
divided into two distinct groups Advanced Age-Group I and II. These swimmers are introduced to elite level
training, methods and competition.
Senior Group swimmers are required to attend 90%
of practices offered each month.
