Upcoming
Swim Meets:
November meets:
The Age Group
Invite: Swimmers must have at least one gold time
to participate. The meet is November 21st and
22nd at Mt. Tahoma pool in Tacoma. The
tentative entries are posted
here. Please let me know of any additions or changes by
Tuesday afternoon.
December
Meets:
December
Divisional Championships: This meet is at Olympic Aquatic
Center in Silverdale, December 5th and 6th.
This meet is for non-PNS champs/Washington State Champs qualifiers.
Please make sure to read the meet information as the format is
different than meets in the past. 13 and over events are
prelims/finals, 12 and unders are pentathlon events with 10 and
unders on Saturday and 11-12 on Sundays. Meet information is

here. Please
declare your intent to attend by Monday, November
23rd.
14 & under PNS
champs: This meet is at KCAC on December
11-13th. This meet is for qualifiers. A
list of qualifiers will be posted after the Age Group invitational
this weekend. The meet is Prelims and Finals. The meet information
is posted

Washington State
Senior Champs: This meet is
at KCAC on December 17-20. This meet is for qualifiers. A list
of qualifiers will be posted after the age group invitational this
weekend. The meet is prelims and finals. The meet information is

here.
Basket
kids: The USA Swimming National
Championships will be at the Aquatic Center from Thursday, December
3rd - Saturday, December 5th. As a team that uses the Aquatic
Center for training, we have been asked to provide the basket kids
for the evening of Thursday, December
3rd.
The basket kids
job:
Basket Kid
– work in the awards ceremonies
carrying baskets for the athletes, carrying Event signs, and
helping with awards presentations (10 – 14 year olds
preferred). We need 10-12 kids to sign up for
this.
This is a great opportunity for your swimmer to
watch some fast swimming and see some of the best swimmers in the
US.
Basket Kids need to wear Khaki shorts or pants
and white tennis shoes. They will receive a free event T-shirt
which they will be able to keep.

Swim suits
-- the last few should be
arriving this week and I will be working on getting them out to you
as the week progresses (a little difficult this week due to all the
schedule changes. Thanks!
Misty Hyman swim
clinic: On the
Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 28th), 2000
Olympic Gold Medalist, Misty Hyman will be here to work with our
swimmers. The clinics will be at the Puyallup pool. The
morning session will be for Gold and Gold II swimmers and the
afternoon will be geared at silver, bronze, and blue
swimmers. You will need to sign up to attend, so look for more
information in the next couple of weeks.
INVOICES ARE NOW AVAILABLE
FOR November. LOG ON TO YOUR ACCOUNT FOR YOUR
BALANCE! November invoices will run on
October 21st and are due by November
15th.

Billing
and Checks:
Please get your
bill paid by the 20th of each month to avoid late charges.
Also, when paying your bill the BEST method is to mail
your payment to:

Puyallup, WA, 98371
rather than giving your checks to the
coaches. Oftentimes, coaches do not get checks to the
bookkeeper to post to your account for a couple weeks as we do not
see her on a day to day basis. Please use the coach as
the last resort for turning in your
check.
United Way?: Did
you know that VAST is a United Way charity and in your companies
United Way drive you can ask that your money be earmarked to
VAST. Money raised through United Way helps defray our
pool costs and allows us to have scholarships available for
swimmers who could otherwise not afford to swim. Our
