LITTLE SQUIDS - This group previously was called our Tic Tacs
Little Squids are our youngest swimmers, age 4-6. This is an introduction to swim team and will have the lowest swimmer to instructor ratio. We will limit this group to a maximum of 5 participants. We may add a second group if interest is more than five kids. Little Squids swim 2 days a week for 30 minutes each session and dues are $40.00 per month. (Tuesday/Thursday 3:00-3:30pm or Tuesday/Thursday 3:30-4pm) Limit 5 kids per time group.
KRAKEN KIDS - This group used to be called our cubs
This program caters to swimmers age 6 to 10. It includes new recruits from summer swim team, as well as kids who have developed beyond local lesson programs and have yet to compete. Entry requirement is the ability to swim 25 yards. In this group, swimmers learn the 4 competitive strokes. Competitive starts and turns are introduced. Kraken Kids are introduced to competition at practice/fun meets, as well as local USA Swimming meets. Kraken Kids dues are $50.00 per month and they train three days a week for 45 minutes a session. Kraken Kids train Tuesday/Thursday and Friday from 3:15-4pm. There will also be an optional swim clinic on Wednesdays to improve strokes/turns etc.
BLUE - This used to be called our Bronze Group
This is our entry-level group for ages 9-12 and also the group that the Kraken Kids may progress to. Entry requirements include the ability to swim 25 yards both on the stomach and on the back. This group will work on learning "legal" competitive strokes, starts, and turns. Competition is introduced with practice meets, as well as USA Swimming sanctioned meets held locally. Blue dues are $55.00 per month and training is 3 days a week for one hour each session. The Blue Group trains Tuesday/Thursday and Friday from 3:00-4:00pm. There will also be an optional swim clinic on Wednesdays to improve stroke technique, turns, etc.
Junior - This group was previously our Silver and Gold Groups
From the Blue group, athletes move into this group. Junior athletes swim all 4 strokes legally, can do flip-turns, and can start off the starting blocks. Technique and training are a focus in this group. Competitive expectations include local and regional meets and qualification for summer and winter championships. Another goal for this group is qualifying for Northwest Age Group Sectionals. Please note that some prior silver kids will go to Blue. Nolan is adjusting groups. Please be patient. It is a process. Junior dues are $80.00 per month and training is 4 days per week. (Mondays - 3:15-5:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 4-5:30pm). There may be dryland on Monday 3:15-4pm) There will also be an optional swim clinic on Wednesdays to improve stroke technique, turns, etc.
SENIOR 2 - This group was previously our Junior Group
The Senior 2 Program is for high school age swimmers (age 13-19). This group offers training for all abilities, from athletes looking improve fitness, to swimmers wanting to hone their technique for high school season, to committed swimmers focused on breaking into the sectional scene. There are no mandatory attendance or competitive requirements for this group--swimmers choose what they would like to get out of swimming. Senior 2 dues are $80.00 per month and training is 4 days per week for 1.5 to 2 hours per session. Senior 2 trains Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri - 4:00-5:30pm. There may be dryland Mondays from 3:15-4pm. There will also be an optional swim clinic on Wednesdays to help improve stroke technique, turns, etc.
SENIOR 1 - This previously was our only Senior Group
The Senior group caters to our top swimmers. The focus is on Local, Regional and National level swimming leading to collegiate level swimming. This group is the top Training Group of TAC and the expectation for attendance is close to 100%. Senior monthly dues are $125.00 and training is 8 sessions per week for 1-3 hours per session. Senior 1 trains Mon/Wed/Fri - 5-7am (one hour dryland and one hour swim), Monday - 3:00-5:30pm, Tues/Thurs/Fri - 4:00-5:30pm, and Saturday - 6:30-8:30am.
The Masters squad is for adults of all swimming abilities and is focused on improving fitness and technique. All competitive strokes are addressed, but the main focus of training currently is freestyle and triathlon training. Training focus is subject to change depending on the group consensus. Masters train 2-3 days a week for 1 hour per session and dues are $35.00 per month for 2 days or $50 per month for 3 days. CRC membership will not be required. Masters must be USA Masters registered or US Triathalon registered so that insurance is covered for the CRC. Family Registration Fee will be waived, but a small administration fee may be charged for registration (Masters swim Tuesday/Thursday - 6-7am and Friday 6:30-7:30am)
