notes: To protect the privacy of the people who donate to
the Swim-A-thon, King Aquatic Club will NOT post the names of the
donors on this website. However, I do keep a list of donors for
each swimmer. If you would like to have a list of the people who
donated for your swimmer, just send an email request anytime and I
will send you the list. Sometime around the end of April, I should
have most of the letters in by then.

Prize Level Report (

(Update
8/29) It was a busy Summer, so busy
that I missed my own deadlines for completing the Swim-A-Thon prize
orders. That is what I get for taking on so many projects. Well it
is now time to finish this one! I need each family who reached a
certain prize level to email me at mwmoffatt@yahoo.com and
let me know ASAP what your prize choices are. If it is prize that
requires a size, please let me know the correct size to order. If
you achieved a minimum of $100 raised, then you will also
get one (1) FREE 2007
Swim-A-Thon Tshirt. If you were part of a group, then you only
get one (1) FREE shirt per group. However, you may order an
additional shirt for $10 each. If you have questions about prizes,
please email me or click on the prize level link
above.

2007 SWIM-A-THON UPDATE!
(Update
6/19) Covington/Tahoma wins the top pool
contest. Currently their site average is $265.09 and we are still
awaiting several corporate matching sponsors who fund quarterly. If
we count all monies received to date and those still pending, our
little club has raised over $60,000 during this years Swim-A-Thon -
a NEW record!

Not too bad considering we
only had 50% of our swimmers participating. Imagine what we
could raise if we had 75-100% participating!
Watch for Swim-A-Thon prize
redemption forms to be loaded this week.
(Update
6/3) I
have still not received all of the pledge packets from our
pool representatives. As soon as they are received, I will
post the final results. In the meantime, start thinking what your
Swim-A-Thon prize selection will be. If the prize requires a
sizing, please call your local swim shop to see if they might have
your size in stock for a fitting. If not, ask another swimmer
you know who has the same item (prize you earned) and ask to try it
on for size.
(Update
6/1) All
fundraising efforts should stop as of today. All monies should be
turned in to your pool representative or mailed direct to me. I
will be accepting Swim-A-Thon monies from pledges that are still in
the mail. If you notice on the Donation Status list that some of
your pledges have not yet been received, send me an email and let
you know who they are. You may still contact them to see if
they have sent their pledge.
(Update
5/24) Remember, the Swim-A-Thon ends on
June 1! All money needs to be turned in no later than this date. Be
sure you turn in your money to your pool representative or you can
mail directly to myself (MARK MOFFATT, 17533 110TH LN SE, RENTON WA
98055). Please DO NOT give any
Swim-A-Thon money or pledge packets to your
coach!
(Update
5/20) The
prize list for the 2007 Swim-A-Thon is now official and posted
above. My apologies for the delay in getting it posted. You
will notice there are some changes to the prize list from last
year. I realize last years prize list was by far more generous from
TYR, however it was based on what KING had raised in
previous years. KING has become a victim of it’s own
success in performing Swim-A-Thon fundraising and far exceed what
TYR had budgeted for Swim-A-Thon sponsorship.
New this
year, you will choose the prize from option A or B for each
qualified prize level. You may also drop to one the lower prize
levels and select one of those two
prizes.
Returning again will be a KING
Swim-A-Thon T-Shirt. Each swimmer/family who raises $100 or more,
will receive one FREE (1) KING Swim-A-Thon T-Shirt. Extra KING
Swim-A-Thon T-Shirts will be available for purchase at $10 per
shirt.
Remember, your pledge packets are
due this by June 1. Please turn in your pledge packets to your pool
representative ASAP. If
youmailed a sponsor letter and want to
know who your sponsors are, send a request by email and
I’ll reply with your sponsor list. Send email to: mwmoffatt@yahoo.com
(Update
5/14) The
deadline for turning in Swim-A-Thon money has been extended to
June 1, 2007. The
reason for this extension is because the Fife Swim Center training
group pool was not ready for their Swim-A-Thon swim. The pool was
closed longer than expected for painting. You do not have to wait
until then, you may turn in your Swim-A-Thon money now to your Pool
Representative or mail directly to me.
(Update
5/10) Now
that we have passed the $40K mark in donations received, we are on
our way for another record Swim-A-Thon year. Just to remind
everyone, the pool with the highest average amount per swimmer
on their roster will win a party for their pool. See above for the
latest pool versus pool results.
(Update
4/20) We’ve hit the $30K mark in
donations received. This mark was set by KING swim families
mailing a sponsor letter to a potential
sponsor. Families seeking donations with the
traditional pledge packets are not included in this count
yet. Remember, the pledge packets are a "opt in" format. This
means you must ask for a pledge packet from your pool
representative or Swim-A-Thon coordinator. Our primary way
of raising funds through Swim-A-Thon is the sponsor letter
method. This method is easier on the families and results show
mor e successful. If you have not asked for a pledge packet
yet or download the sponsor letter, please do! There is
still one month remaining as Swim-A-Thon ends May 21,
2007.
Some
of you have noticed the prize list has not been activated. This was
intentional as I am still negotiating additional prizes. The levels
will remain similar as last year with some changes. I am trying to
get more choices within each level. Please be patient and look for
the list to be activated real soon, hopefully within the
week.
(Update
4/16) Attention all KING swim families,
now that Spring Break is over, the DONATION STATUS section has been
updated. Please keep checking daily for updates. Lastly,
please note the new Matching Companies download above. Many
companies will match yours or your sponsors donation by simply
filling out a form. If there are any local companies missing,
please let me know ASAP so I can revise the
list.
(Update
4/7) Attention all KING swim families,
There will be no updates to the DONATION STATUS until after Spring
Break is over. Look for the next update to be posted on
4/16.
(Update
3/31) Attention all KING swim families,
even though the letter writing party is over, you can still
participate! I have extra letters/envelopes available. Please
contact me if you need any letters & envelopes. Otherwise, you
can download the letter & instructions online. Remember, start
collecting addresses of your family relatives, friends, neighbors,
and all the people you currently do business with or have done
business with in the past! Do not be embarassed in sending a
letter. You could be doing them a favor by providing a
tax deduction opportunity. King Aquatic Club is a non-profit
I.R.S. 501(c)(3) organization. Our Federal Tax ID
#91-1363268.
Swimmers should send
as many of the personalized form letters to potential sponsors
asking for their support. For those swimmers who prefer to go
door-to-door asking for sponsorship, the USA Swimming Swim-A-Thon
pledge packets are in and will be available from your pool
representatives (or designee). I also have extra sponsor letters
& envelopes leftover from the kick-off party. If you need
extra, let me or your pool representative know.
Sponsors are
starting to return their pledges and donations. The donation status
tab at the top is now active! Click on the link above to watch your
donation status increase. If you want to know who your sponsors are
- send me an email request.
Last year KING
raised over $43,000 helping to keep swim operation expenses down
while helping a swim team in Louisiana (NU Wave Swim Club) with their
Katrina Relief. Our goal is 100% participation during the 2007
Swim-A-Thon fundraiser campaign. If we meet that goal, we will
easily surpass last year’s record! The optional USA Swimming
traditional Swim-A-Thon packet will also be available later through
your pool representative.
