2011 FALL TOP 200

A study of the performances by Pacific Northwest Swimming (PNS) athletes for the fall of 2011 based on the Top 200 times nationally has been completed. This has been done to show our progression on the national scene as we promote excellence in performance. December is a championship month with Winter Nationals, Junior Nationals, Pacific Northwest Swimming Age Group Championships, and Washington State Senior Championship being staged. The results of these meets were very positive and show an upward trend in performances.

About one half of the National Top 200 performances in each category have been achieved through December 2011. This means there have been approximately 100 swimmers who have achieved a National Top 200 time in each event and gender on the national scene.

The PNS women rank tenth nationally in the “18 and under” category amongst the 59 LSC’s. The men are ranked 20th in the nation. The PNS is ranked 13th in the combined division. The tabulations are for your viewing.

In the age group tabulations (11-18), the PNS is ranked 14th overall. The present ranking is an improvement of the 20th place ranking in 2010-2011 short course season. The female swimmers rank 13th overall, while the boys rank 14th. In the 2010-2011 short course season, the females were ranked 21st and the males were ranked 19th. The following table shows the national ranking by age and gender through December 2011. A total of 59 LSC’s are being tabulated:
