Learn-to-Swim with the "Crocodiles"

The Corona Aquatics Team is proud to offer our Learn-to-Swim program for those not yet ready to join our competitive swim team.

Level 1

Level 1 will teach basic water comfort, bubble blowing, front and back floats, kicking at the edge of the pool, as well as ring retrevial and beginning entry into and out of the pool.  Among other skills, graduation from this level will require the ability to float on both the students front and back.  Minimum age requirement is 3 years old.

Level 2

Level 2 builds on the skills learned in Level 1.  Entry into Level 2 requires the student to be able to perform all skills required for graduation from Level 1.  Level 2 will introduce beginning freestyle and backstroke, as well as the pencil dive and the use of the kickboard.  Among others required skills, graduation from this class requires the student to perform unassisted front and back floats and to confidentely complete an unassisted freestyle swim across 1/2 the length of a 25 yard pool.

Level 3

Level 3 builds on the skill learned in Level 2.  Entry into Level 3 requires the student to be able to perform all skill required for graduation from Level 2.  Level 3 will begin dive training, work on freestyle and backstroke technique, and build the endurance and confidence to complete a 25 yard freestyle swim.  Graduation from Level 3 will require the student to confidently and quickly complete a 25 yard freestyle swim.

The Corona Aquatics Team maintains no more than a 6:1 student:instructor ratio.  Learn-to-Swim classes are 30 minutes long (with actual 25 minutes water time) for $80 per Session.  Each session consists of 8 classes in 4 weeks.  Due to limited class sizes for maximum instruction, it is the policy of the Corona Aquatics Team that missed classes cannot be made up or credited for to future sessions.

Upon graduation from Level 3, students are encouraged to join either our Novice or Age Group II program depending on ability.

Our Novice group emphasizes the competitive elements of freestyle and backstroke.  Age Group II improves on the freestyle and backstroke techniques, and teaches both breast stroke and butterfly, as well as competitive dives and flip turns.

Enrollment in the Novice group requires the swimmer to comfortably cross the length of a 25 yard pool unassisted.  Enrollment in Age Group II requires swimmers be able to confidently and quickly complete 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke.

Try-outs are held every Friday from 5:30pm to 6:00pm and do not require prior notification.  Swimmers will need a bathing suit, towel, cap, goggles and change of clothes.   Click Here for a map to our pool.  For additional information or to register you may reach us at tara@coronaaquatics.com or at (951) 403-3219.

We look forward to seeing you!
