QuickSilver Swimming Team History & Mission
QuickSilver Swimming (QSS) was formed in August of 2011, when two Zone 1 South teams joined forces—Almaden Swim and Racquet Club (ALMA) and San Jose Aquatics (SJA). Both teams had strong traditions of excellence, developing swimmers from novice to the national level and Olympic Trials.
In September 2007, Andre Salles-Cunha became Head Coach of ALMA and he continues to lead QuickSilver Swimming. Andre has a long history in swimming, together with a fantastic set of accomplishments. A Stanford Graduate, Andre was two-time PAC-10 Champion in the 100 Breast, and was a three-time Collegiate All-American.
To have a nationally recognized competitive aquatics program that teaches and trains all levels of swimmers, emphasizing individual progress, team unity, family participation, and competition at the highest individual level.
