Bullets Masters
Academy
Bullets Masters (ABM) is a member club of the Illinois Masters Swimming Association, a
division of U.S. Masters
Swimming. We provide coached workouts, training, and
stroke instruction to adult swimmers (18+) of all ability
levels. Masters Swimming provides opportunities for lifelong
fitness, friendship, and fun. At ABM, we incorporate all
three into our program.
If you are a triathlete, open-water swimmer,
or fitness swimmer, our teaching and training model provides a
great balance to enable you to make gains. If
you are a current or former competitive swimmer or water polo
player looking for a place to swim, our workouts can help you get
into great shape while measuring progress and preventing
injury. Seasoned Masters swimmers and new members alike will
find a program tailored to meet their personal fitness, training,
and competitive goals.
Competitions (pool, open water, and others)
are encouraged (but not required) throughout the year. Our
experienced coaching staff is always available and willing to help
swimmers realize their swimming potential.
Schedule
Our winter schedule typically runs from early
October through USMS Short Course Nationals in early to mid-May.
Our Summer schedule begins one week after Short Course
Nationals and runs until the US Aquatic Sports Convention in
September. The 2008-09 season marks our first as a truly
year-round Masters program!
Regular practices are held
at Marmion Academy from 5:30 - 6:30am.
See below for late August 2009 practice
changes!
While keeping to our many season plans, each
workout is tailored to the attendees’ individual needs.
Practices are designed to promote progress both in conditioning and
mechanics in a positive learning environment.
Additional practices are held on select
evenings (posted here) at Centennial Beach in Naperville during the
summer, weather permitting.
