NATIONAL AND
SENIOR GROUP STANDARDS
To be
considered, a swimmer must have achieved a
National or Sectional time standard or have competed in finals at
the TAGS Championship meet. Swimmers must be at least 13 years of
age [unless coach approved] and demonstrate commitment and
responsibility on a daily basis. Must receive coach direction well.
Swimmers in the 7th or 8th grade are not encouraged to attend
morning practices (but may if they desire and coach approved).
Maturity, goal setting, and leadership qualities are key to
learning and understanding the process, performance and outcome
goals designed for this group. Knowledge of training paces and
race strategies are
necessary.

SPORTSMANSHIP
JUNIOR GROUP STANDARDS
To be
considered, swimmers will be expected
to make a commitment to swimming with regard to longer training
sessions and year-round competition. The minimum age for swimmers
to enter this group is 9. Swimmers must demonstrate the ability to
receive coach direction well, i.e., modify strokes, starts, turns
and tempo change, etc. Cognitive learning of advanced
swimming techniques, goal setting, and team dynamics are important
for this level of swimmer. Practice is offered six [6] times per
week, and swimmers are expected to attend a minimum of five [5] per
week. Must compete in a USA sanctioned meet every month or when
offered.
