“Olympic Way”
is our introduction to swimming and is primarily for first and
second year athletes. It is designed to teach young swimmers
the fundamentals of competitive swimming with emphasis on learning
and developing the four competitive strokes and the various skills
associated with them.
Practice sessions include
repetitive movement skills, supervised play using swimming skills,
stroke and turn drills, relays and an introduction to
conditioning. Participants are encouraged to attend as many
practices as possible. Entry requirement is the ability to
swim one 25 yard length of the pool.

Age-Group
Peter Fecht
|
This group of swimmers can
perform the four competitive strokes, but requires refinement of
their skill. Emphasis continues to be on the fundamentals of
competitive swimming with an introduction of more arduous training
techniques, more advanced racing skills, more attention to detail,
and an intro to dry-land training exercises.
Age-Group training level is for young
swimmers who require emphasis on greater technical proficiency and
swimming speed. In this group, swimmers refine stroke
technique, starts and turns, and they will perfect the art of using
the pace clock to help them learn how to time and pace their
training sets. Age-Group swimmers will expand their
knowledge of group and team dynamics while broadening their
understanding of swimming as a competitive sport.

Senior
Bill Barton
|
Swimmers with the
appropriate dedication, desire, experience, and talent move to the
advanced training level of our program at 13-15 years of age. The
training program in the Senior level is very
demanding with a heavy emphasis on distance-based physiological
training.
The
Senior group level is for athletes with advanced
competition ability or potential. This is a highly motivated and
committed group of swimmers. Emphases are on sound technique,
speed, endurance, power and other important racing aspects of our
sport. These swimmers’ main goal is “to be the
best they can be”.
