Swimming Programs offered by Sienna Plantation
Aquatics
Sienna Plantation Aquatics (SPA) offers programs and practice
groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal
of the Sienna Plantation Aquatics to offer age specific training
for all of our athletes geared towards challenging and developing
each individual to the best of THEIR abilities. Our programs
start with our Learn-to-Swim instructional program (SPA School of
Fish) and continue through our upper level groups which feature
swimmers competing at the National level, along with adult swimming
groups. For specific program details please contact the

Learn-to-Swim(Instructional/noncompetitive)
Sienna Plantation Aquatics takes pride in offering a quality state
of the art aquatic program that ranges from Parent/Child classes
through Adult advanced lessons. Private lessons (1:1 ratio);
semi-private (2:1 ratio) and small group lessons (4:1 ratio) are
available throughout the year. We also offer the popular
stroke technique clinics for those who are almost ready to join our
competitive team. Our friendly and caring swim instructors
are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.
Our goal is to make sure you and your child have an safe and
enjoyable swimming experience. Please fell free to contact

Nemo Group (2 days per
week)
The Nemo Group is a developmental "entry level” competitive
swimming group for athletes making the transition from an
instructional program or summer recreational league to year round
competitive swimming. This program is for athletes 4-8 years
of age who are legal in two strokes and have knowledge of all four
strokes. The Nemo Group swimmers practice twice per week for
45 minutes each session. The Nemo group swimmers are
encouraged, but not required to compete in
competitions.
Required equipment: Mesh swim bag, kick board, fins
(pocket foot), goggles, cap
Competitive Prep 10&Under (2 days per
week) The competitive prep program is a
month to month program with fees due by check on first day of each
month to the coach. This group will not practice in
December. This program is an entry-level
competitive program for ages 7-10 yrs old. This program is
tailored for athletes who have a working knowledge of all four
strokes, are "legal" in three strokes and fairly proficient in
two. These swimmers have either participated in summer
league, or are preparing for the summer league season.
Practices are offered two times a week per week for 1 hour a
session. The main purpose of this group is to give those
swimmers who have swimming skills continued aerobic training along
with emphasis on stroke technique that will allow them to advance
into the other SPA programs. This group has no competitive
requirements, although if a swimmer wishes to compete they
may. Required equipment: Mesh bag, kick board, fins
(pocket foot), goggles, cap, water bottle, tennis
shoes.
Competeitive Prep 11-14Yr old (2 days per
week) The competitive prep program is a month to month
program with fees due by check on first day of each month to the
coach. This group will not practice in December. These
swimmers have either participated in summer league, or are
preparing for the summer league season. Practices are offered
two times a week per week for 1 hour a session. The main
purpose of this group is to give those swimmers who have swimming

Dolphin Group (3 days per
week) The Dolphin Group is
also an "entry level" competitive swimming group for athletes 7-10
years of age. This program is tailored for athletes who are
"legal" in three strokes and fairly proficient in two
strokes. The Dolphin program targets young swimmers who are
new to USA Swimming and want a fun avenue to enhance their
abilities. The majority of time is spent on refining stroke
mechanics. These swimmers have started to exhibit good
swimming skills and will be introduced to some training skills and
processes. Swimmers are strongly encouraged to compete
in competitions when coaches indicate they are ready. The
Dolphin group swimmers practice three times per week for 1 hour
each session Required equipment: Mesh swim bag, fins
(pocket foot), kick board, goggles, cap, water bottle.
Junior Olympians (4 days per
week) The Junior
Olympian (JO) group is an entry/intermediate competitive swimming
group for swimmers 11-14 years of age. This group trains 4
days per week for 1 1/2 hour sessions. This group is tailored
for entry level swimmers who have achieved basic skills in swimming
and have some understanding of stroke requirements. The JO
program specifically targets young swimmers who have participated
in competitive situations and are wanting to learn more detailed
stroke progressions. The JO group spends their time
equally between stroke technique and training skills and
processes. This group has an expectation of competing in USA
Swimming meets when the coaches feel the swimmer is
ready.
Required Equipment: Mesh Swim bag, Kick board, fins (pocket
foot), snorkels, goggles, cap, paddles. Tennis shoes, water bottle,
jump rope.
Flying Fish (4 days per week) This is a
new program for Spa this yr and will only be offered in
Sienna. This program is for the advanced 8-10 yr old.
They will practice 4 days a week for 1 ½ hr sessions.
The flying fish program targets those swimmers who have been in yr
round swim team and have experienced all 4 competitive strokes
legally. We will be spending time working on stroke
technique, training processes and goal setting. This
program is a competitive program and swimmers will be required to
compete at meets and attendance will be
monitored. Required Equipment: Mesh Swim
bag, Kick board, fins (pocket foot), snorkels, goggles, cap,
paddles. Tennis shoes, water bottle, jump rope.
State Team(6 days per
week) The State Team is an advanced
competitive program for swimmers 9-14 years of age. The State
Team trains 6-8 practices a week depending on swimmer age and
readiness. The practices are approximately 2 hours per
session and this program is only offered as a year round program
(swimmers are restricted from joining a summer rec league
team). The State team swimmers should have a working
knowledge of training, are able to use more advanced training
equipment, are capable of setting defined goals and are continuing
to improve their technique in all four competitive strokes.
The State team has a requirement to participate in meets throughout
the year. There is an attendance requirement for this
training group. Some morning practices will be required
depending on
age.

(coaches), pull buoy, fins (pocket foot), breast stroke fins
suggested, pdf fins, snorkel, tempo trainer, jump rope, stretch
cord, tennis shoes and water bottle.
National Development (3 days per
week) The National
Development program provides supplemental training for swimmers
that compete for their respective high school teams, but do not
necessarily compete in USA Swimming meets. The program is
open to all Junior Varsity and Varsity athletes that are working
toward achieving success at their various high school
competitions. These swimmers are expected to be both mature
and responsible. The National Development program is offered
3 days per week for 1 3/4 hrs per session. Swimmers have the
option to compete in USA meets in this
program.
Required Equipment: Mesh swim bag, kick boards, paddles
(coaches), pull buoy, fins (pocket foot), breast stroke fins
suggested, pdf fins, Snorkel, tempo trainer, jump rope, stretch
cord, tennis shoes and water bottle.
National Team (6 days per week)
The National Team is the highest level competitive program
offered by SPA. It is for experienced year round swimmers who
have achieved upper level time status in competition and practice
sets and have dedicated themselves to the sport. The National
Team swimmer consists of competitors who have demonstrated a skill
level commensurate with that needed to compete at the United States
Senior National and Junior Olympic National Championships. Swimmers
exhibit a high level of swimming and workout ability. These
swimmers are expected to be mature, dedicated, responsible, and
dependable. As our more advanced swimmers increase their commitment
to swimming, we insist that they maintain good academic
standing. This program does have an attendance
requirement and some morning practice will be required during the
school
year.

paddles(coaches), pull buoy, fins (pocket foot), breast stroke fins
suggested, pdf fins, Snorkel, tempo trainer, jump rope, stretch
cord, tennis shoes and water bottle.
Masters (3-4 days per week)
The Masters program is offered for adult swimmers of
varying abilities ranging from beginner to competitive
status. The program is designed to provide adults with an
aerobic workout while at the same time improving stroke
technique. SPA Masters program offers 4-5 Sessions per week
and we are hoping to offer more soon. Required Equipment:
Mesh swim bag, kick boards, paddles, pull buoy, fins (pocket foot)
and water bottle.
