RED TEAM
This group is
comprised of novice competitors generally six to eight years of
age. The emphasis in this group is to develop the fundamentals of
the four competitive strokes by means of short swimming sets,
drills and games. This creates an enjoyable atmosphere for
instruction.
BLUE TEAM
This group
is a transitional group in which swimmers move from primary stroke
instruction to beginning competitive training. This group of
swimmers can perform the four competitive strokes at a level that
allows for more endurance work. Emphasis here continues to be on
the instruction of the fundamentals and rules of competitive
swimming.
SILVER TEAM
This group is a
further transition into competitive training. Careful attention to
stroke and turn technique is given, but greater emphasis begins to
be placed on endurance and training correctly for upcoming events.
Swimmers at this level are usually well into the competitive phase
of their swimming. Swimmers move to this group once they
demonstrate the ability to swim at regular intervals required of
this group.
GOLD TEAM
Age Group
Gold swimmers are those swimmers who are ready to "train" for
competition and demonstrate that readiness by consistent practice
habits and abilities. They also demonstrate the ability to swim at
the regular intervals required of this group.
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT
TEAM
This group
is for the swimmer who has reached a level of excellence in
training and in competition. Swimmers in this group are preparing
for specific competitions and for their upcoming transition to the
Senior team. This level is for those athletes who can swim at
appropriate intervals and who want to challenge
themselves.
SENIOR TEAM
This group
is for swimmers who have achieved a level of swimming ability that
requires more intense training and faster training intervals.
Swimmers at this level who have the necessary desire and dedication
are provided with a training program designed for success on the
national level in their age divisions.
SECTIONAL
TEAM
Sectional team
members are at the highest level of swimming in the CSC structure
and their training will focus on success at the Region, Jr.
National, Sr. National and International levels of competition.
These are swimmers who have qualified for the Region VIII meet in
one or more events. These swimmers are expected to excel in
training and attend all practices provided for them to meet their
goals and objectives.
