Swim Team Info

Welcome Greenway Gators!

Whether you are a new or returning Gator, we hope that you will find this summer’s swim season better than ever.

The Greenway Gators is a recreational, development swim team that provides its members an opportunity to improve swimming skills, increase their confidence as swimmers, and exhibit good sportsmanship while participating in structured practices and friendly competition during Old Dominion Swim League sponsored swim meets.

Any child who is 18 or under (by June 15th) and does not have another recreational team affiliation, is eligible to register for the swim team.

Our registration fees cover HOA fees, lifeguards and coaches salaries, awards (ribbons and end of season), insurance, ODSL fees, equipment for swim meets, t-shirts, and social events.

** If for any reason your child withdraws from the swim team on or prior to June 10, you will receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee.

The Greenway Gators accepts swimmers who are not residents of Greenway Farms. Presently to join the swim team you would first need to purchase a family pool pass for the season.   The HOA has set the limit for outside family memberships at 25.  The cost is $350 and is good for full pool access between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  As per the HOA Swim Team Resolution "all private memberships will be handled directly through our President and Property Manager".   Their contact information is as follows, Kim Berkey ( and Lily Lombardo (

Parent Volunteers

It takes LOTS of volunteers (about 30-35) to run our swim meets. Every job is important, but none require too much training. Each family is required to volunteer four times during the season. See Volunteer Obligation tab for complete details.

Each team member is responsible for purchasing a swimsuit, either a team suit or a solid black or green suit. We will have bathing suits available for order during the suit fitting event. Additionally, we will provide swim caps, which are green with the Greenway Gator logo.

The coach requests that all children have goggles. When choosing a pair of goggles, please keep in mind that they need to be sized accordingly. All swimmers with hair long enough to reach their eyes must wear swim caps for practice as well as meets. It is very difficult to learn proper stroke mechanics if a child is struggling with a mouth full of hair!

Contact Julie Graham with any questions regarding the registration process.

We look forward to having you join the Greenway Gators Swim Team and are excited for another great season!
