President's Letter

Short Course season for 2006-2007

Welcome to those returning and the new members of Lakeside for 2006 2007 season.

We are once again coming off a very strong year of individual and team performances for Lakeside . We were well represented in our State, the Country and through out the World this past year and have look forward to the coming year.

In for the 2006 and 2007 season, there will be a modest monthly dues increase. For the month of September you will be invoiced at last year’s rate. Beginning in October the monthly fees will be increase by $7.50 a swimmer. It has been over 3 years since we have had a rate increase and with the continuing increase in operating cost we want to make sure the team remains financially stable and capable of delivering the quality program but also continuing to find ways to improve. In addition we will not have the fund raising activities during the year. We still plan to have a parent’s party but will not be selling the raffle tickets and having the auction. It has been very successful in the past but is a lot of work for many parents.

The annual parent meeting will be on September 21 this year. It will once again be held at the Clifton Center . It will begin at 6:00 PM .  Also at this meeting we will want to collect the annual Parent Contract, Family Bio Sheet, Medical Release Form, and other needed paper work. These can be found on the web site.

The Meet Schedule and Practice Schedule can be found on the Team website, www.Lakesideseahawks.org.

The Team also has a Yahoo Group Mailing List please sign-up for this, it is used as a good forum for communication.  Directions to sign-up can be found on the website under Team News.

During the coming year, the coaches are again looking for ways to improve the training and performance. This year we will be looking to increase the use of the video systems and systems we have purchased over the past few years and have recently added too. This will require training and time. We will discuss this more at the group coaches / parent meetings.

We also want to remind parents and swimmers that the team has a Physical Therapist   that does come to MTM weekly and is available to discuss any concerns. If swimmers want to discuss this please let their coach know so we can set up visits.

Thank you,

Bob Leasure, President of the Board
