Seasonal Swim Programs
SRVLA Year-Round Swim Program
Age-Group Development
Our Age-Group Development group represents our swimmers of
tomorrow. In this group, we first emphasize teaching the
proper stroke technique in freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and
butterfly. Starts, turns, finishes, and reading the pace
clock are also taught.
As swimmers continue in this group, they are still perfecting
their skills, stroke drills, kicking sets, and interval
training. Practices are designed to help the swimmers at
their different levels continue to improve and achieve their goals.
As you develop through this group, swimmers emerge that are
committed to swimming smart while swimming fast. Interval
training, stroke drills, and kicking sets are still
emphasized. Goals are established and individual heart rate
sets are monitored.
This group then progresses to the more serious swimmer who is
committed to swimming smart while swimming fast. Interval
training, stroke drills, am kicking sets are still
emphasized. Goals are established and individual heart rate
sets are monitored.
Pre-Senior Group
This group prepares age group swimmers to move up to senior
level swimming. Commitment to training increases and season
planning becomes more long-term. Building the foundation for
a well-rounded swimmer continues, but some specialization is
introduced as individual aptitudes are discovered. Athletes
continue to learn more about how to train and why they train.
Goal setting is emphasized more at this level.
Senior
This group experiences an elite level of training. State
of the art stroke techniques are taught. Focus on heart rate,
aerobic, and anaerobic cycle training is emphasized. These
swimmers enter national and international competitions. They
meet swimmers from all over the world. Training in this group
has created Olympic level athletes. Practices are designed to
help swimmers at their different levels achieve their person goals.
