Technical Committee, Dan Warner (NSSC):Technical needs to set the date for the next meeting.

Coaches Representative, Matt Craven (SAC):There have been a lot of discussions among coaches about the senior meet in December.Teams from out of district are looking to come.

Other:Ray Grant (SSA):many clubs are facing tight financial squeezes from their facility owners, and depend on meets to help finance their programs. He would like Technical to discuss how we can let the market dictate what the fees to be charged will be.May, 2002 was the late time the event fee was changed.Technical will discuss entry fees, admission fees and program charges and will be the results back to the next meeting.

Bob Gauvin (SCA) is looking for an athlete to speak at the Banquet.

Rick Osterberg (UN-NE) asks people to check the web after they have things posted to make sure it is correct.

Matt Craven (SAC) brought up the lottery and issues surrounding its use, such as when teams send an extra large number of swimmers for any one day, leaving the other days unbalanced.Problems then result if you end up doing a lottery for each day.Issue to go to Technical.

Dan Warner (NSSC) believes the 12 & Under meet will be $1,000 short, and the Open $3,000 short. The Open meet will be a good meet, run properly and with appropriate fanfare for a Championship meet.If the meet loses money, Dan Warner (NSSC) will get the financial statement to Mary Riddell (NE SWIM) and further discussion will occur.Meet directors of Championship meets cannot be expected to lose money.

Technical Committee will meet August 28th (Tuesday) at 5:00 p.m.

Ev Crosscup (BAT) stated that the fees for renting the pool at MIT were absurd it was thousands of dollars for an afternoon session.

Mary Riddell (NE SWIM):Registrations are at 6,500, which is a new high for New England Swimming. Also, she has received quite a few requests for copies of the By-Laws, they are very expensive to send out.Ray Grant (SSA) will come up with a policy on this. They should be on-line, and they need to be typed in PDF.

Priscilla Davis, Safety (UN-NE) stated that cell phones with picture taking capabilities are illegal in the locker room, and that this rule is already stated in all meet information.

The next meeting will be scheduled for September 6th, 7th or 8th, depending on building availability.Check the website and watch for emails.
