Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Joe Frazier (BGSC).

Secretary�s Report, Kathy Dacey (BGSC):Minutes of November 7, 2006 meeting accepted with minor typographical changes.

 

Treasurer�s Report, Carol Healey (SAC):��

Carol Healey (SAC) reports that the 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006 Financial Review Forms have been completed.2005 was done last year.An audit of the financial books of NES is required to annually file the state public charity form for non-profit organizations with assets of over $100,000.Motion made to arrange for and pay for audits for the aforementioned years by Dan Warner (NSSC), second by Pam Warner (UN-NE), motion passes.

 

Reimbursement, Mary Riddell (NE Office):No reimbursements to be granted at this time.Requests for reimbursement currently submitted will require the swimmers to swim in one additional meet, once that requirement has been met the names will be brought forward.

 

End of Season Meets:Seniors will be held at Harvard, and there has already been one entry from Virginia.Meet coordinators are working diligently on the details of this meet, and believe that there will be a charge for parking.The Meet Referee for Sectionals will be Michael Downs, the Administrative Referee is yet to be decided.It is anticipated that this meet will be slightly smaller than the meet last year, which was very large.

 

The dates for the summer calendar will be finalized shortly.

 

Discussion regarding scheduling of summer end of season meets.

 

Registration, Mary Riddell (NE Office):160 Background checks have been completed.Some teams have been slow to register, but overall registration is going well.

 

USA Swimming is requesting that Registration and Times Chairmen meet in Tucson, Arizona April 20-22, 2007 for a meeting.Motion made to send Mary Riddell (NE Office) and Rosemarie Meisner (GMSC) to Arizona by Kathy Dacey (BGSC), second by Harriet Kinnett (MAG), motion passes.

 

Discussion regarding the Distance Internet Challenge which is being promoted by United States Swimming.This event will require a sanction in order to be able to distribute awards.Mary Riddell (NE Office) will sanction this event.

 

Athlete�s Report:The athletes will discuss the proposed scholarship further at the February meeting.Further discussion about having the coach nominate a swimmer for this scholarship.Additional discussion tabled to the February meeting.

 

Officials Report, Scott Doty (PSC):The names for officials running the championship meets at the end of the season will be announced shortly, pending additional discussion.

 

Coaches Report:No report at this time.

 

Technical Committee, Dan Warner (NSSC):No report at this time; a meeting of the technical committee will be scheduled.

 

Other Business:Discussion regarding alternative sites and dates and times to schedule New England Swimming Board Meeting.

 

NOTE:Medals and ribbons for championship meets will be available after February 6th for pick-up at Kathy Dacey�s (BGSC) home in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.Meet Directors are asked to coordinate with Kathy Dacey (BGSC) directly.

 

The next meeting of the Board of New England Swimming is scheduled for February 6, 2007 if the room is available.There will be no meeting in March, 2007.Check the website and look for emails.
