an emergency, please call (908) 526-1200 ext. 8325

(908) 782-1044 (swim team ext.

FACILITY: RVCC
is a six lane 25-yard pool; has non-turbulent lane lines; angled starting
blocks; Colorado timing system with horn start and three-line time display
board; computer results; spectator seating, gymnasium across the hall from the
pool for use on both Saturday and Sunday.
SANCTION: The
RULES: 2008 USA Swimming Technical rules will govern all competitions.
Decisions by the referee are final.
Each Competitor must fulfill the following
eligibility conditions:
1. The swimmer must have been a member of his/her
YMCA in good standing for at least 90 days prior to the date of the
championship and entitled to full privilege membership activities.
2. The swimmer must be an amateur and must not
have represented another YMCA or another organization in open or closed
competition 90 days prior to February 7, 2009.
3. The swimmer must have represented his/her
YMCA in closed competition on at least three occasions on separate days during
the four (4) months period prior to Saturday, February 7, 2009.
4. Participation is determined by the swimmers
age as of December 1, 2008,
and the swimmer may participate in that age group only.
5. Each swimmer may enter three events with a
maximum of two (2) individual events per day. A swimmer may participate in one
or both relays. There are no restrictions on the number of entries per team in
individual events.
6. Each team may enter as many relays as they
have swimmers, however only one relay will score. All other relay teams are exhibition only.
Coaches should make every effort to identify the most likely swimmers and enter
those swimmers names in the relay events. Coaches will be allowed to change the
names of the relay swimmers within 15 minutes of the start of the relay events
by bringing their changes to the computer/scoring table at the pool.
7.
Relay
swimmers for this meet must be entered in the Bronze Championship and can only
swim those strokes and distances on relays for which they qualify for in the
Bronze championship. If a swimmers has qualified for the Silver Championship
meet in a 50 of certain stroke, that swimmer may not swim that stroke in a
relay.
8. Entry in the
New Jersey YMCA Bronze Championship Meet will be based on qualifying times
exclusively and must be certified in either open, league, or dual meet
competition. (Note
2008 rules which define a YMCA Inter-association Swim
Meet.) Entry times may be challenged by the Competitive Coordinators who may
ask for verification of any seed time. All
seed times must be provable. Swimmers or coaches who cannot produce verification
will have these swimmers reassigned to the heat and lane their proof permits or
entered as a "no time" and assigned to the slowest heat.
9. A swimmer
who has qualified in one to three events for the YMCA Silver Championships may participate at the Bronze in
any event other than the Silver qualifying event or on a relay where they would
be performing this stroke. For example: an 11-12 swimmer qualifying for the
Silver meet in the 50 Freestyle would not be eligible to swim the individual 50
Freestyle, or the Freestyle leg of the Medley Relay or participate in the 200 Freestyle
Relay at the Bronze meet. A swimmer who has four or more YMCA Silver qualifying
times is not eligible for this meet.
10. 8/under swimmers are not eligible to participate in the Bronze Championships.
11. The 2006
edition of "Principles and Rules Governing Competitive Physical Activities
in the YMCA" and the current edition of the revised Swimming and Diving
Supplement prepared by the East Field South Competitive Committee will be used
to measure eligibility.
12. It shall be the responsibility of the coach
and Executive Director of each Association to assure that their swimmers meet
these eligibility requirements.
13. The Championship Meet Committee will be
composed of the Meet Referee (Head Official), Meet Director, North District
Competitive Coordinator and the North Jersey YMCA Swim League and South Jersey
YMCA Swim League Executive League Coordinators, or their designees.
ENTRIES: Swimmers
may enter a maximum of six (6) events; not more than four (4) individual events
(two per day). HY-TEK entries are
strongly encouraged and email is preferred to be sent to [email protected]. No time or NT entries will not be accepted. Entries must be received by 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Age eligibility will be determined by the
swimmers age as of 12/1/08.

$4.00 per event. Relays - $16.00 per
event. Mail one check payable to HCY Swim Team with entry forms, diskette

SESSIONS: The
meet director reserves the right to adjust the start times of each session
after all entries have been received, based on the total number of swimmers that are
entered, in order to make the meet run in a more efficient manner. Any changes to the order of the sessions or
start times will be sent to all Ys as soon as this information is determined.
SEEDING: This
meet will be seeded in accordance with USA-S Technical rules (Rule 102.5) and
for the benefit of both the swimmers and the spectators, the meet has been
pre-seeded. The program will be official
unless, in the sole discretion of the Meet Committee, event(s) may be re-seeded
due to the extent of the scratches. If the Meet Committee decides that it is
necessary to re-seed an event, all
timers, officials and coaches will be issued heat sheets showing the re-seeded
heat and lane assignments and heat sheets will be posted throughout the pool
deck and in the spectator areas indicating the reseeded event.
SCRATCHES: Before each
session, each team must submit a scratch sheet indicating those swimmers in
attendance and those swimmers to be scratched (a line through a name indicates
positive check in; a circled name indicates a scratch). Scratch sheets should
be submitted no later than 30 minutes after warm up begins for any
session. All entries not scratched will
become official entries. Any swimmer not
scratched using this procedure who does not swim an event will be considered a
