The Truth about the Marlins
Swimming is a very popular sport in the Cincinnati area and the city is fortunate to have many good programs. We often hear stories about what other teams and coaches are saying about the Marlins. Unfortunately, many of these stories are inaccurate. We encourage prospective members to contact the Marlins to find out firsthand about our program.
The Marlins program is growing rapidly. In the last four years we have grown from 170 swimmers to over 400.
Our training is appropriate for a swimmer’s age and physical development. We do not believe in an excessive amount of yardage for any of our swimmers.
We do require our families to contribute by working at our meets, as do other teams that host their own meets. We are an independent, parent-owned club focused on providing the very best competitive swimming program possible.
Our team offers unequaled opportunities for national and elite-level swimmers. We also offer an outstanding program for swimmers who have not reached that level. Every swimmer receives outstanding coaching and individual attention.
Our fees are competitive with other teams in the area and in most cases lower. Our fees cover many items that cost extra at other programs. Our families receive a great value for their money.
The Marlins have programs in place to prevent injuries to our swimmers. These include regularly scheduled assessments by physical therapists, preventive exercise as part of our training and an emphasis on proper stroke technique.
We offer more practice options than any other team in the area. Practices are held six days a week at 4 different locations.
