The Blaine Swimming & Diving Booster Club was
formed as a support organization for both the Girls and Boys Swim
and Dive Teams. The Booster Club has regular monthly meetings
throughout the year, organizes fundraisers and manages the funds
raised by the Booster Club. The Booster Club provides the
primary source of funds for both teams. All spending from the
Booster Club requires approval by two-thirds of the Booster’s
Board of Directors at a minimum according to the bylaws. The
Board of Directors has six members; president, vice president,
secretary, treasurer, boys’ team at-large parent, and
girls’ team at-large parent.
How the Booster Club supports the swim and dive
teams:
- We hold one major fundraiser each year (Craft
Fair).
- We sponsor smaller fundraisers in the form of
concession stands at all home swim meets.
- Equipment spending is recommended by the team
coaches and approved at Booster Club meetings by the Board of
Directors and any parents and student-athletes
present.
- When possible, the Booster Club also provides
stipends to the athletes and their families for purchasing the
annual team suit. The amount of the stipend will vary
depending upon the financial status of the Booster
Club.
