The Morgan Marlins Swim Team is a seasonal swim team and a member
of USA Swimming. USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for
competitive swimming in the United States. The Morgan
Marlins Swim Team is also a member of Colorado Swimming and
Northern Colorado Swimming.
The Morgan Marlins Swim Team
is governed by a Board of Directors and bylaws approved
by the board. We receive no financial support from any public
agency. Rather, membership fees, fundraising projects and
donations cover our expenses. The Fort Morgan Evening
Optimist Club has become a regular sponsor of the Morgan
Marlins Swim Team. They assist us both financially and with
volunteers for our home swim meets. The Marlins joined Morgan
County Junior Athletics in 2015 and under their umbrella we are a
Non-Profit organization.
We have swimmers
from age 6 to 18. Our swimmers compete at a very high level,
at a moderate level, at a beginning level and some who do not
compete at all but utilize practices for fitness.
The mission of the Morgan
Marlins Swim Team is to promote the sport of swimming by educating
and motivating all team members. The professional coaching staff is
dedicated to developing and motivating swimmers at all levels by
teaching stroke skills and techniques, promoting physical and
mental fitness, providing a safe and fun environment for the
development of character, pride, self-confidence, a sense of
accomplishment, self-discipline and encouraging good sportsmanship.
Family and community members have the opportunity to
support our team member by volunteering their time and energy
at practices, meets, and organizational events.
