Our
Purpose:
- To promote amateur swimming and diving for
Montgomery County area young people, to help provide the
opportunity for competitive swimming and diving at all levels, and
to encourage excellence and sportsmanship.
- To provide instruction for new and
developing swimmers and divers and to further enhance the skills
needed for advanced swimmers and divers.
- The MAC program is about developing and
enhancing swimming and diving skills, to teach the values of
sportsmanship and teamwork, and to provide a healthy means of self
expression to those participating.
MAC is a parent run swimming and diving team
consisting of approximately 150 swimmers and divers that
compete in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL). Keeping the
swimmer to coach ratio at a manageable and safe level for best
instruction is important to our program; therefore, we maintain a
ratio of no more than 12:1, usually less.
A community-oriented program, MAC takes great
pride in the development of all its swimmers, providing instruction
to enable each child to be the best he or she can
be.
Our swimmers have found swimming can be fun and
provide positive individual feedback, while emphasizing a
synergistic team-oriented approach.
Any child who can swim 1 lap of the pool (25yds)
freestyle or backstroke can join. Children 9 and over must be able
to swim 2 laps of the pool. You do not have to reside in the
Methacton School district to join the team.
Our swimming and diving season consist of
approximately seven dual meets, various optional invitational
meets, a Division Championship swim meet and diving meet, open to
all swimmers and divers, and the League Championship meet for the
top 18 swimmers (plus 2 alternates) in each age
group.
Methacton Aquatics Club, A 501(c)(3)
organization, kindly accepts all donations and will provide
tax receipts upon request. We are proud of the service that we
provide our members. To learn even more, browse MAC website’s
