About

About the Palomar Piranhas

The Palomar Piranhas Swim Team is nestled in the heart of the Palomar Hills subdivision and is open to any swimmer who lives in the Palomar Hills neighborhood or any surrounding neighborhood without a neighborhood swim team. Summer swimming provides a great opportunity for kids to learn sportsmanship, develop friendships and stay healthy through regular activity.

Our hope is that you and your child will have a fun and positive experience as part of our swim team. Please remember that everyone on our team contributes to the team spirit and fun!  We hope the information provided will help you better understand the sport of competitive swimming and how our team works. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the board members.

Swimmers take part in weekday practices and compete in weekly swim meets in June and July. The atmosphere is fun, and swimmers are cheered on by their friends and families.

The swim team is capped at 150 swimmers and registration closes once we meet capacity.

Children as young as four are welcome to join the swim team if they are water ready and willing to swim. SWIM TEAM IS NOT A FORM OF SWIM LESSONS. A child must be able to swim the length (25 yards) of the pool independently. Children not yet ready for the swim team are invited to join the Mini Piranhas, our developmental team.  Additionally, during the Piranha season, coaches are available for individual private lessons. Sign-ups and prices will be available on the pool bulletin board.

The Palomar Piranhas are part of the Man O' War Swim Conference and hold eight championship titles and runners-up in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
