Spring Quarter 2017

Established in Spring of 2017, Cal Poly Swim Club was founded by Kyle Vu, Emily Hecomovich and Cole Claypool.

Our first practice was held on April 13, 2017. Within the first week of practice, over 30 students had registered with the club.

The active members list has grown to 60 students and had a fast growing interest list of over 100 students.

Summer 2017

During the summer of 2017, major progress has been made in making the team more professional. We've partnered with Arena for the 2017/2018 school year and will be wearing and using their equipment and suits. We've also purchased TeamUnify, allowing us to have this website, online registration, time keeping, meet entries, etc..

Fall Quarter 2017

Fall Quarter 2017 was our first "real" quarter, where we had over 70 members join us! We attended a Meet at UC Davis, where the Men's team took first place and the Women's team took second place, with an overall second place team finish!

Winter Quarter 2018

Winter Quarter 2018 was a huge success! With many new members, we sent nearly 30 swimmers to the Stanford Invite, where we DOMINATED! Cal Poly won the overall meet by over 100 points. We have since been training hard and will be sending 11 swimmers to Georgia Tech to compete at the first annual Collegiate Club Nationals in April!

Spring Quarter 2018

We sent 11 swimmers to Georgia Tech to compete at CCS Nationals! We had some top 20 finishes and even some top 10 finishes! Lot's of behind the scenes work is being done in preparation for Fall Quarter 2018!

Summer 2018

This summer, a lot of behind the scenes work was done. Our partnership with Arena was renewed with even better deals and benefits for our team and staff. Planning for Nationals has already begun and have set a goal for 20 members to attend the 2019 CCS Nationals held at The Ohio State University.

Held a strong campaign of advertising the club and urged existing members and prospects to register early. As of September 18, we have 43 students already registered with the club.

Fall 2018

Swim Club saw a record breaking number of members join us in our first quarter of the academic year with over 70 registrants! We competed at a few meets and every meet was an overwhelming success. New practice routines have been implemented and have seen an overall improvement in member satisfaction in dryland and practices.

Fall 2021

Swim Club is coming back in-person!! (and maybe Sarah will update this page... time will tell.)
